Remarks
Actually, I didn't apply to a lot of colleges. I learned about Shoolini University from a contact of mine and immediately informed my parents. I didn't avail any quota for admission. The admission requires minimum passing marks from the 12th class of any Indian board. The admission process was smooth. They explained everything to us very calmly. It didn't even take much time. There was no counselling the day I got my admission but overall there are 60 seats per badge.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have been interested in the field of Law since my childhood because I've always wanted to serve my country. That's why I chose BA LLB. There are highly qualified faculties at Shoolini University. We have top class professors from the profession of Law who has graduated from other high-level colleges. The teaching method is superb, they even use technology to its full extent to help students. Regular material is sent online to us. Video recordings are taken of every lecture. There are doubt clearing sessions every day. Teachers are always there for us. Exams were all taken on time and though the difficulty was high, we still aced them as our preparation was that good.
Internships Opportunities
You can work as an assistant to Judges or Advocates in the internships with a stipend of upto 5000 rupees. There are also regular visits to the Courts of Himachal. In fact, SS Thakur, who is a retired judge of Shimla Hight Court, himself comes and oversees the whole Law department. Works include contract drafting, documentation.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the final year. Big companies like Godrej, Tata etc come to the campus for placements, usually around March. Packages can go up to 15 lakh or even 20 lakh rupees depending on the firm and the individual. The placement is really good. There is 100% placement for courses like Biotech and MBA. No placement has occurred yet for Law because no badge has graduated as of now. My plans after graduating are to get a lawyer's job at a big corporate firm in the UK.
Fees and Financial Aid
My cost for the study is 45,000 for tuition and 32,000 for a hostel per semester. This is for BA LLB. In the pandemic, they had even less our fees as we were completing our education at home. As law students, we go to internships where we get a stipend.
Campus Life
There is an annual event called MOKSH which takes place in March every year at campus. It's a huge event, full of dancing, singing, fun activities. Even celebrities are invited to it. In addition to MOKSH, there are tons of other fun events that occur throughout the year. There is no shortage of books at the Yogananda library. There are a huge amount of Bare Acts and Journals for law students to study. In terms of sports, there are many activities related to it that take place at Shoolini. There's a Yuvraj Singh Cricket Stadium, a tennis court and basketball court + indoor sports. There are many student clubs like literature club, art club, singing club, etc where all kinds of fun activities and contests take place between students of different streams.
Hostel Facilities
In the room, there are bunk beds, study tables, shelves, wardrobes, multiple charging points and the 4G wifi connection is always available. The Hostels are always kept clean. The meal quality is genuinely good and all of it is prepared on time. There are all kinds of dishes that everyone can enjoy. The registration for the hostel will take place when you're getting your admission. They will show the rooms to everyone and you will have to choose between 2 seats, 3 seater and 4 seater rooms. The cost for 2 seater room for a BA LLB student is 32,000 Rs.
