Remarks
Best faculty in Mumbai for BSc COMPUTER SCIENCE and one of the best college in Mumbai. Practical lab is well equipped with latest technologies (hardware and software). Subjects taught with more emphasis on practical knowledge (compared to other colleges). Best college to enroll to, if seeking computer science bachelors education.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum should be updated as new technologies emerges. (Example: Java JSP, servlet, Java EE etc not being used in any companies now instead should have more emphasis on frameworks like Spring, Django, Flask, etc.) hence subjects should be updated as per industry's requirements. I chose this course since it had main focus on only core subjects of computer science. There are 8 faculty members and 3 batches of 50 students each. Teaching is mediocre and faculty qualification is above masters degree. Exams were organised in a very timely manner and updates were given on continous basis. Exams were of Mediocre level difficulty.
Placement Experience
From 4th semester students become eligible for campus placements. WIPRO, TCS, Infosys, L&T companies visited and made 2LPA offers. Highest and average package as per company and profiles offered is 2LPA. Percentage of students getting placements is 100%. My plan after getting degree is to work for few years for experience and then pursue Maters abroad.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure involves tuition fees and other facilities (gym, lab, library, etc). Fees hike last year (since it became autonomous) was too much and few were not able to afford it. No jobs offered in campus with stipend.
Campus Life
For science students extra curricular activities and clubs are not much encouraged since faculty considered attendance of lectures and practicals more important than the activities and social life. Tech fest was cancelled for our batch but annual fest were celebrated in organised way and all were allowed to participate. Teachers day, independence day, rose day and many other days were celebrated in huge manner. All types of books and journals available. Classrooms are well equipped. Sports and extracurricular activities are not much encouraged.
Admission
Only a small interview was taken before admission which was taken by the Head of department of Computer science. Questions asked were: why you chose this college? Where else you took admission and for which course.
