Remarks :
I wanted Computer/IT which I was getting in NSIT. Also it was close to my house so that was a plus. Admission process was simple. Apply on josa website and select your branches and wait for the results. After that go to the college for multiple rounds and if you're getting what you want, freeze your choice else keep it on floating.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculty can do better. Course is good. Exams were tested with a biased nature. New methods not allowed by some teachers. All faculty have good qualifications but not all teach that good. In IT the faculty student ratio was 1:50. Exams were mostly easy but sometimes trick questions used to come. If you attend classes regularly and have a good reportiere with the teacher you can do good in exams. I chose this course because I wasn't getting COE and IT was similar to COE. I love CS and this course enabled me to study what I wanted.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I interned with Goldman Sachs and it was amazing. GS is a great company to work at and my stipend was good. My project was under HCM division and I had to develop web apps for them. It was a fun two months.
Placement Experience :
NSIT is well known for its placements and top companies regularly visit it in the placement season. Speaking of Computer science and IT, some of the top companies that came were :Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Google, Tower Research, Microsoft, Expedia, Qualcomm, Atlassian.Average packages change every year and Atlassian was the highest package company with 55 lakhs per Annum. In my batch 100% of students got placement if they opted for it.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure has changed now since I was in college. At my time it was fixed for every year with no hikes. There was a 25,000 scholarship if you come in top 10% of your batch every semester. I didn't get this since I was in top 20% of my batch. Lot of PhD students act as teachers to undergrad students to have a source of income. Undergrad students don't have any official income sources in the college. They can do GSoC or internships for which the college is an excellent place.
Campus Life :
Campus life is vibrant and good. Students have a lot of options to explore in campus. Culture is vibrant and dynamic. Annual cultural fest is called Moksha and its one of the best fests in Delhi after Rendezvous of IIT Delhi. Singers like Shaan, Salim Suleman, Vishal Shekhar, Jasleen Royal etc. come to the fest and it?Ûªs really amazing. The average footfall is around 3-4K.The Nsit library Is centrally air conditioned and a haven in the hot scorching summers of Delhi. It?Ûªs well stocked and I could find most of the books I needed here. The library administration could definitely do better although and they have now digitised the bookkeeping which is great. Classes are simple with benches and a blackboard. There?Ûªs an OHP but it doesn?Ûªt work. There a lot of social groups, societies, clubs students can join. In fact I even co founded a. Society called Axiom, the philosophical society of Nsit. You can find more info on college website.
Admission :
No, it was done via JoSAA and admission was based on the cumulative JEE main tank and boards percentage. The process for admission I already discussed above. There was no preparation just stream allotment on the basis of rank and choice. Similar to what happens for IITs.
