Architecture, a good option

Remarks :

DY Patil in akurdi has one of the best campus in Pune. The campus has more than 15 different colleges in it. Such as engineering, architecture, fine arts, mca, mba, etc. The landscape of campus is very well designed. Speaking about the architecture college building, the planning is very beautiful and there are lots of open spaces for students to enjoy. The overall vibe of the place attracted me so I wanted to go to this college only. One of the bad aspect would be the classrooms. In my first year there was no issues with the classrooms but later on since they divided us in three divisions instead of two the classrooms were short. So they had to divide a studio in two, which was very chaotic at some times. The admission procedure was quite easy and the staff was very helpful too.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is very much interesting. For those who dont like studying much, this course is a great option. But yes the course demands a lot of hard work. There are tons of assignments to do. We have spent sleepless nights at times. The faculty is very well experienced and interested in teaching. Some of the faculty is very chill with students and are joking around with students to burn some stress. They support alot during external vivas and are always protective of the students. If you submit assignments on time, then you can easily pass the subject. Many students find the theory exams hard and often fail in them. Especially in TOS (a subject having physics and maths). But I never found it difficult and managed to clear them everytime. So I would say its easy to pass if you put enough time.

Internships Opportunities :

Fifth year has mandatory internship. So yes I have done my internship. College has no hand in the procedure. You have to get it by yourself. My internship experience was pretty good. Got to learn about practical things.

Placement Experience :

Some companies do visit but for this course its easy to get a job from off campus since a lot of firms are always hiring. Getting a job is very easy so don't have to worry about that. You can start internship from first year itself.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure has changed from my times. Its lowered. Around 90k per annum. Yes there are scholarships available for students. To know more about them, you'll have to contact college cause the policies keep on changing every year. A few companies do come to campus like Neilsoft, Godrej, etc. But in architecture, students mostly get jobs from firms so getting a job is not the tough part. The cost of the stationary and other stuff needed would be around 10-20k per year. (Prints, sheets, etc).

Campus Life :

As I said one of the main reason to choose this college was the campus. The social life on campus is pretty good. There are lots of events going on and one way or other you can get into it. There are lots of clubs available to join too in different colleges in the campus. Just roam around enough and you'll get the information for it.

Admission :

No, there's nothing of that sort. The admission procedure is online like DTE. Where college can't really choose the students except for the management quota. But yes obviously even there its all about money.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Remarks:

I love my college as the way it is, wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Admission:

I was earlier classed into the pool of NRI students as I had completed my 10th and 12th graduation from abroad. I however did not want to register as an NRI student and wrote the MH-CET which is the state entrance exam and the field under which I chose it was engineering. I managed to attain a good rank and get admission into my required branch and field at Symbiosis Institute of Technology. I attempted the MH-CET exam some time around the beginning of May. I chose the course of Electronics and Telecommunication as it particularly interested me and the main interest in Symbiosis was generated through the fact that one of my cousins had studied there and overall I had heard a lot about Symbiosis especially in the Pune circle. The steps required in this process were i) Application through the Symbiosis Admission Portal ii) Attachment of all relevant documents for verification iii) A counselling session in which all the ranked candidates where invited and offered seats iv) A final verification and admission confirmation

I had given AIEEE and MHTCET entrance examination. The college is very well known in Maharashtra. I was interested in this course only. This was the only college choice of mine for the course.

Admission:

Admission process was through DTE. CAP rounds were scheduled before which we have to fill our all details and get it verified at ARC centre with original documents. Then fill the option form, and wait for the results. I got selected in cap round after which I confirmed my admission at the college.
