100% placements

Remarks :

NMIMS holds a legacy of creating the finest management graduates for almost the past 4 decades. Many alumni hold prominent positions in the largest corporation around the globe. The course curriculum unlike the traditional system of education does not keen on memorizing facts but is driven by real-life case studies designed by top B-school in the world. The evaluation for the trimester is a combination of class participation, group projects, and written exam (case driven). Students with a decent academic background, have a fair shot to the admission process at NMIMS as 70% of weightage in the selection process is given to your entrance score (the process is subject to change for different years). The remaining 30% is evaluated on your academics, GD&PI.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The majority of the faculties at NMIMS are with a Doctorate degree, the ones who don't have comes with a lot of industry experiences. Despite having a different department for all four core specialization of area, NMIMS comprises of different departments for Strategy, Business communication, and economics. Each department comprises many faculties. Apart from these full-time faculties, NM has many eminent professionals working as visiting faculties. The course curriculum is common for everyone in the first year. For the subsequent year, the specialization depends on the number of electives chosen from a specific domain. The evaluation is conducted on a trimester basis, which includes mid-term exams for few subjects. The marks per subject are divided among class participation, group & individual projects, and written examination varies from subject to subject.

Internships Opportunities :

The summer internship process starts in the final leg of the first trimester. Any students, who are willing to opt-out of the process are allowed but it is mandatory to serve 6 weeks of corporate internship. The list of companies and stipends paid is mentioned in the placement report.

Placement Experience :

The process for final placements starts in the 5th trimester. Since many students already receive a PPO during their summer internship, the placement process is completed soon. Even in this pandemic, the final placement went well and many students got placed in leading companies. For more details, one should look into the final report on the placement released by the placement committee of the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure changes every year with some increment over the previous year, owing to the pandemic for this year there is been no change in the final fees. The scholarship is awarded to a few meritorious students. Financial assistance for students with weak family backgrounds is provided. The placement process starts 40-45 days after the commencement of the course.

Campus Life :

Since it's a covid year, all lectures are conducted online. The college has many clubs and committees, providing students with a platform to excel in their skills and hobbies. I was part of the Social Responsibility Forum, which planning and conducting events associated with a social cause. The student council body conducts different indoor and outdoor sporting events, involving students from different colleges. Owing to the pandemic, we have been provided with remote access to the library and other databases.

Interview Experience :

My Group discussion topic was the effect of plagiarism by top professionals on society. All group discussions are conducted through a case study, which is generally a half pager. The first 5 mins are for reading the case, the next 10 mins for general discussion followed by a conclusion time of 2 mins. Interview experiences are different for different people, for many, it's a general interview, mostly revolves around the work experiences incase of a working professional and academic centric for freshers. Having general awareness can help in the interview process. Reading business newspapers can help to prepare for the interviews.
