Remarks :
Good aspects - Good visiting faculties, good exposure because of the fest, Attendance not a major issue. Bad aspects - lack of in-house faculty in Civil department, no labs for practical subjects 2nd year onwards. The admission is given solely on the basis of the JEE-Main Rank. I preferred IET over other colleges as it is a govt college, placements are good as compared to other colleges and all the other engineering colleges in Indore are affiliated with RGPV. I got information about the college from Alumni, the college website and portals like Collegedunia.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculty Student Ratio 1:70. The visiting faculty were well-qualified, but there was a huge shortage of in house faculty for the Civil department. I chose Civil engineering as I was highly interested in pursuing it and was looking forward to a career in the same.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for placements from the Seventh semester. Many companies like MuSigma, Accenture, Capillary Technologies, ZS Associates, Trident, etc. visit the campus and offer packages in the range of 3.5L to 21L per annum. The average package is around 6LPA. Nearly 70% of the students get placed. I opted for MBA after getting the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost to study is low as compared to other engineering colleges since it is a govt college. I did not sit for college placements as I wanted to go for higher studies or the Teach for India fellowship. The scholarship is only available for SC/ST/OBC students.
Campus Life :
There are several clubs like EWB (Engineers without borders), ISC (Sports Club), Literary Club, etc. The tech fest happens in the month of September or October while the cultural fest happens in the month of February or March. The social life is very good. Very few books are available in the library, students have to purchase most of the books or borrow from seniors. Some of the classrooms are equipped with projectors while others just have a blackboard/whiteboard.
Other Applied Colleges
