The good college to invest on

Remarks :

MDI Murshidabad is the sister branch of the well-known college MDI Gurgaon. It has huge return on investment as compared to other tier 2 B-schools. Only bad aspect of this college is its location when comes to industry exposure. But it stands very well on other criteria. The admission process involves filling up the registration form of college and a valid CAT score to get a call for GDPI. Apart from CAT score, it does not accept any other entrance test.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It follows the trimester curriculum with leverage of opting dual specialization among Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management and Operations Management. On a batch size of 138, we have 25-30 faculties and the male-female ratio is in 7:4. Due to the current pandemic situation, the learning pedagogy is completely online.

Internships Opportunities :

For summer internship placement, students got various opportunities from good companies which include startups and some top-notch companies. 61 recruiters offered roles across different domains. The prominent recruiters were Jio Creative Lab, Moody's, Airtel, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, JSW, Emami and many more.

Placement Experience :

The placement figures are very impressive for each year. This year students got 100% summer internship placement, most of them with good stipends. For the final placement, the highest package offered was 21LPA and the average package as 10.5 LPA. Almost all of the students gets placed every year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

One of the major strengths for this college is its nominal fee. Fees has to be deposited before the commencement of each semester. The online learning has deducted the hostel and mess charges in total fees. No such scholarships and financial assistance is provided.

Campus Life :

The campus is the epitome of greenery and adds historical values. Unfortunately batch 2022 could not experience real campus life but the new normal has brought events and extracurriculars on online platform. There are subject-specific clubs and committees which looks after student engagement in other activities which adds value to overall student profile.

Interview Experience :

The group discussion process was removed for the upcoming batch of 21-2023 due to inconvenience in the online platform. The GD topics and interview questions usually revolve around social issues, current affairs and knowledge on pre-acquired qualifications. Being familiar with the newspapers, economy, facts and figures and few mock interviews are the key to gain confidence and enhance communication to prepare for these rounds.

Placement Experience:

The college offers Campus placements in hospitality and tourism fields. Many companies come for campus interviews. Also, the placement manager co-ordinates with the students and send the students to various organizations for interview. As far as I know, almost 75% of students in our batch got good placements through the college. Also, the travel and tourism field offers a wide array of employment, so one does not need to wait for campus placements.

Placement Experience:

Laterals placements are chiefly meant for candidates with more extensive work experience. Candidates with more than 10 months of work experience only are eligible for the Lateral Recruitment process. Lateral Placements at IIMs start a month or two before the final placements. The candidates selected by the companies for Lateral placement are offered senior and middle-management positions. During the final placements process, students are recruited for permanent, full-time positions with various firms and all students are allowed to apply, regardless of whether they have prior work experience or not. The final placement process takes place in the month of March every year, at the end of the 2-year course The final placement process mirrors the summer placement process in that it is also conducted in a day format, in which firms are invited on campus on a particular day on which the firms can choose candidates.

placements are average, as one cannot expect great placements from a tier 2 college. The average salary is up to 10.5 lakhs and the highest is 21 lakhs. The highest package only went to a single student. companies offering below 6 LPA are not allowed.

Admission:

The admission process is very simple. I just online inquiry for the course and the process for admission. And in the time of admission I visited our college for admission. No entrance exam is conducted for admission.

Placement Experience:

As my course is a diploma course, so we did not get a chance to appear in the college campus interview. Job opportunities are not available in our course. Only based on our course, we got jobs after completing the course.
