Entrance Preview :
I took NATA and my score was 111 out of 200. I opted for this college as it has the required infrastructure. I chose this course because I had always wanted to be an architect.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is detailed. Every semester we studied 8 subjects including both theory and studio subjects. We also had elective subjects introduced to us in the later semesters. Self study is encouraged. Newer subjects are added as the University is trying to better its course objectives. Software classes are also introduced to enable students to become more proficient.
Internships Opportunities :
The college doesn't provide internship. Although the last year is meant for training under a qualified architect. The students themselves send out portfolios and reach out to offices in India as well as abroad for their internships and the stipend varies accordingly.
Placement Experience :
No placements offered. In architecture, no placements were offered to us even though at the orientation we were told that we would be placed. But no such thing happened. Other departments, especially engineering, offer placement to students. Companies like mahindra, google, and max hospital come to get the University to take students for jobs.
College Events :
There were two events celebrated in one year. One was the freshers which was held along with a fest which went on for about 3-5 days. And another fest which had all these competitions, MUNs, debates, dance and fashion shows etc. Often times celebrities are invited to perform. Neha kakkar, the Local train are a few who have performed.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is definitely expensive. 65000 for one semester in addition to which other expenses also had to be made. For newer batches the fees is even more. Around 75k for one semester. After all this, money spent on books, materials, and sheets, laptops etc. Also has ro be taken into account.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarship is offered to students who score a CGPA of 9 or above. Don't know about any loan facility. Students can also pay their fees in installments provided they take prior permission and are suffering from financial problems.
Campus Life :
The campus is very diverse as people from across the country come to get admission in the college. Apart from this, student exchange programs also add to the diversity as students from France and aftrica also study at the University. MUNs are held during fests and freshers. A lot of events and competitions are also held. Students from various backgrounds can be found.
Hostel Facilities :
I was a day scholar but as per my friends in the hostel, the food and laundry services were not very good, below average you can say. Three or four students shared one room. Although new hostels blocks have been constructed to avoid shortage of rooms.
Exam Structure :
We had 3 exams in one semester for each subject which counted as our internal marking in addition to assignments and final exams at the end of every semester were counted as external exams. I wouldn't say it was hectic as we only had to pass in two out of the three exams. Neither was it too chilled out or relaxed. I feel the structure was apt.
Faculty :
The faculty is average. Some of the teachers were really good, professional while the others were least bothered about education. The faculty kept changing over the years and we had both good and bad experiences. To sum it up, one can say the college can definitely benefit by hiring better staff.
