Remarks :
My college is considered one of the best for the course I was doing,as it is only available in 8 girls college of Delhi university. It is located in central Delhi so one can easily reach by metro, there are lot of places to visit nearby. Although the college is off campus so you don't get the campus life that many people desire during their college. This college is a Sikh minority college so some people might not like it as all the functions etc is related to Sikh religion, the langar that happens in college during gurupurab are really tasty. The admission starts in may,and the classes start in August.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is a entrance based,it's a professional 4 year course in which you get graduation plus degree and you are eligible to teach in schools directly after you complete the course. We have exams annually, plus there are practicum and projects that you have to do. There are 50 students in one batch. The teaching faculty is very qualified many of them were either doing PhD or completed it,the teacher's are good, they help you a lot in those 4 years, but you have to work pretty hard in this course.
Placement Experience :
During fourth year some schools come for placement in which you can sit but only 10-20% people get the job. But one can apply for jobs when they are in 4 th year for primary teacher, one can get 22000-30000 depends on the school.
College Events :
The annual fest happens for three days in February, also sports day,Bani kirtan competition etc. CP is close by so there are many places where you can hangout with friends. Also there are many societies like dance, music, Punjabi, etc which you can join if you are interested. The library is quite big, there are may books available.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee is approximately 20000 per year, one can get scholarship if they score good or are financially weak. One can get placed from college but very limited people get the job others have to find it on their own.
Admission :
Yes there was a written test for this course,it had basic 8 th standard concepts, one can easily prepare for it and clear the exam. You can get the test pattern online as it changes time to time. There is maths, science social studies, English Hindi and general knowledge in the exam. I brought a book for the exam which had mock test papers,so you can either but that or just revise the primary syllabus and you are good to go. In my college there was a reservation for Sikh minority so you can get benefit of you belong to Sikh religion for that you have to get the certificate to prove yourself.
