Remarks :
First of all we get B-Tech degree from this college which matters slightly more in future than BE degree and also city culture is not too low to enjoy high standard life. But as every coin has two sides, this College's infra and cultural events were not upto the standards we expected to be.About the admission process, it's quit simple. You just need to visit main admin building for whole admission process but due to COVID-19 I can't give the exact date/month but normally admission process starts from the early month of April. If you have to stay in Vidarbha and you won't get VNIT or Ramdev baba college then this is the best institute in Vidarbha to prefer because of teaching and studious environment. And because the cutt off marks are moderately high for this institute, the student intake quality is also superior because of which students environment is pretty good. For further info about cutt off marks and placements you can also refer college's official website :- gcoea.ac.in
Course Curriculum Overview :
Look choose your branch according to your interest, every branch you choose is best at its own. I was interested in electrical networks and related equipments hence I chose Electrical engineering. There is 1:6 faculty to student ratio when I was studying, every time this ratio varies due to visiting faculties. There are minimum 5 PhD holder faculties in every department along with other professors. And they are really good at their jobs, but most of the time these PhD holder teachers assigns visiting faculties for their subject instead of them teaching actually. But if you have any doubt about subject you can ask professors right away, they really help students but most of the time they are not in their cabins so better to note down every doubt in separate book and visit them whenever they are available. Now let me tell you about exams. Half yearly there are mainly 2 class tests commonly know as CT and 1 end sem. So yearly there are 4 CTs and 2 end semester (Summer & Winter) Examination. Each CT contains 15 marks per subject and also there's 10 marks for teacher Assessment (TA) and 60 marks for end semester per subject that makes 100 marks paper for One semester (CT-1, CT-2, TA, END SEM :- 15, 15, 10, 60 marks respectively for each subject) And CTs syllabus is strictly according to how much professor will teach you in class so you don't need to worry much about CT. And TA mostly depends on Assignments and Homeworks given.
Internships Opportunities :
I haven't opted for internship program because i was preparing for GATE mainly but with the help of recommendation letter from professor you can easily get internships in the same city, since Amravati has lots of industries around. And there are mainly one minor project submission and major project project submission in 3rd year and final year respectively which helps us to use our theoretical knowledge in practical field aslo.
Placement Experience :
Campus placements are good for for Software branches but for core branches placement is not that good enough for students. Campus placement starts from 3rd year only. There was highest package of 12lpa and lowest 2.8lpa when i was in college. There is about 60% placements in this college. Core students can either opt out for software placement or they can give competitive exams for higher package because as i said campus placement for core branch in our college is about negligible.
College Events :
There are two major fests in our college, 1st one is cultural fest 'Zenith' and the other one is Tech fest 'Prajwalan'. Also there is alumni meet every year year in our college. Cultural fest is in the month of December or early January and tech fest is in the month of early February. There is also a sport event called 'Kalpana Chawla Trophy' every year which is interdepartmental sports event. There are lots of social group and clubs in our college which every student can really enjoy.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees structure varies every year, so I can't guarantee you about exact number. But there are various government scholarships available for various categories. You can definitely check those out briefly once you visit students section counter and don't worry, once college starts the notice about scholarship process circulates on respective branch's what'sapp group. Also for poor students there are mainly two scholarships available, one is Siemens scholarship which helps you all 4 years financially. you need not have to pay a single penny throughout your engineering in this scholarship and they also provide internship program for students those who got scholarship. so you should definitely check that out. And other one is spandan foundation scholarship program which is from the Alumni batch of our college itself who provides financial support to really needy students.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel room infrastructure is not that bad. There are two ceiling fans and tubelight in every room with 3 separate beds and a cupboard. And room is sufficiently big enough to live so that's not the issue. The main issue is with water, sometimes water is not available for bathing and other purposes. Registration process for hostel is included in admission process but list of candidates is selected on the basis of CET marks for every branch separately And not according to who comes first. But with this price point hostel is best.
Admission :
No, there was no interview and GD for admission process. The only criteria for admission in this college is to get good marks in MHT-CET exam which is conducted by Maharashtra government. Once you clear the required cutt off for this college you can directly enroll for admission. For cutt off information you can definitely check out college official website :- gcoea.ac.in
