Entrance Preview :
I had given the popular Engineering entrance exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced , BITSAT and IPU CET. I had also given the entrance exam of some private universities like SRMJEEE and Amity JEEE. I got a rank of 44,667 in JEE Mains so I was not eligible of getting a decent course in any good college being of General category and belonging to Delhi.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is not that great compared to IIITD where the focus is on the opted course from the first year. In Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University, all the students have to study the same subjects no matter what stream they are from. There are subjects like Applied Chemistry, Engineering Drawing, Manufacturing Process, etc which are not much useful for CSE students.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, our college provides Internships. Many students get Internships offer as soon as they enter the 7th semester. People from Internshala recently visited our campus to help the students get placed. Many popular companies like Libsys, Accenture, Infosys offer Internships and the stipend ranges from Rs 5,000 - 15,000 per month.
Placement Experience :
The placements of MSIT are very good. Most of the students gets placed especially those in CSE branch. Companies like Accenture and Infosys come for mass recruitments and they give an average package of Rs 3-3.5 LPA. Big Companies like Microsoft, Libsys, MU Sigma, etc also come for placements. They offer higher packages(8-10 LPA). Last year Microsoft recruited 3 students from MSIT.
College Events :
Technical fest and cultural fest - Avensis are held in the month of February. Many students take part in this fest. Technical events like Hackathon are organised. Many cultural, dance and music competitions are also organised. Students from other colleges come as well. But there is not that much participation in our annual fest as compared to the fest of popular colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees is feasible. The fees for the first year is Rs 1,15,000 which includes the Tuition Fees, University Fees, and Security Deposit of Rs 5,000. The fees is not low but it is okay compared to other colleges. Or the 2nd and 3rd year the annual fees is Rs 90,000 and for the 4th year the fess is Rs 92,000 including placement fees of Rs 2,000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are no scholarships offered to meritorious students. However the top rankers are displayed on the notice Board every year. Also, a students has an option to upgrade his branch or shift to another college of GGSIPU if he/she scores good marks in the first two semesters. Loan facilities are also not available from the college end.
Campus Life :
The Campus life is good. The crow is also good. Gender ratio is not that great. There are very few girls in this college especially in the 2nd shift. Our college has many societies including IEEE MSIT, Technocratz(Technical Society), Rotaract Club of MSIT, AIESEC, Literary club, Mutants(Dance, Music and Drama Society).
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms are good. The hostel charges are Rs 41,000 per year(twin sharing) and Rs 52,000 per year(without sharing). The mess food is okay. Many options of PGs are also available. The PG rent varies from place to place. A good PG would cost a single about Rs 9,000 a month.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have a massive alumni network, courtesy- the annual alumni meet. Well-settled alumni, even abroad, constantly keep in touch with current students, helping and mentoring them for organising various events, preparing for examinations, or advising on what to do after graduation.
Exam Structure :
Semester exams are held every six months(one for each semester) and question papers are set by GGSIPU Universities. Apart from the external exam a sessional exam and a class test is also held each semester. We have a practical lab period every day and it becomes hectic to manage the assignments and study for the sessional exams as well.
Faculty :
The teachers are good and have good knowledge of their subjects. They explain the concepts in a good manner. They will clear all the doubts of a student. The faculty is well qualified and experienced. They conduct class tests and give assignments to ensure whether a students has understood the concepts or not. They take full interest in what they are teaching.
