Remarks :
St. John's College could be called the best college in the city not only with regards to the education they provide but also the fees structure the facilities but also the life lessons the teachers impart and over everything the overall development of the students. This time the admissions were done on a merit basis which was based on the marks scored in 10th and 12th. The college releases various merit lists and accordingly called students for the personal Interview kind of procedure, in which the students were to complete the various admission-related formalities. I chose this college because I'm doing CS right now and since CS could be done from anywhere I did not consider going out of the city.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Talking about the faculty of St. John's where the faculty consists of a men's women ratio of around 45:55, it's a good college in northern India. The college has always worked for nurturing students and selecting well-educated experts as professors from all over India. No doubt the faculty members are highly educated as they do not teach the relevant course-related topics but also impart practical knowledge making the student industry ready and also in other fields of the competitive world through regular interactions and doubt sessions. I recommend this college to everyone.
Placement Experience :
Since I'm in my first year now I don't know much about the campus placement offers by the college, but as far as I know, students usually take Higher studies options or take it a startup so there is not much scope for these placements also the placements are usually limited to the city or nearby areas. But campus placements are done in the college and students are selected too.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college is never lacking in providing scholarships and awards to deserving and meritorious students, which are endowed over a period of time. You can never find any problems regarding fee hikes or similar issues, as the college was established by the missionary society of England in1850 the fees are minimal as compared to other colleges. The fees for the BCom program lies between 4000-4300 per year for science it's between 4500-6000... One of the scholarships I know is the farmer's scholarship ranging between 5000-8000. Almost all the students who apply for the scholarship are provided the same.
Campus Life :
The most popular extracurricular activities promoted in the college are arts, dramatics, quizzing, antakshari, etc. The various student societies are "Rovers and Rangers", Arts Association, NSS,SCM etc. The college has an open reading room with over 70000 books and journals for students to read and refer to. Not only this, the college provides various sports facilities, there's a common ladies room for indoor sports and recreation. It is one of the oldest, beautiful and prestigious college in India which admits both graduates and undergraduates.
Interview Experience :
As of now due to covid-19, there no kind of group discussion or personal interview but I remember one day in August the college called the students to complete the leftover formalities and a small PI in which they asked us about our interest. About our school etc.
