Remarks :

Manipur University is one the best universities not only in Manipur but in the whole North-Eastern states of India. Manipur University is 'A' Grade credited by the NAAC. Admission is done on the basis of merit and there are reservations as well. I have selected this university over others because this is the university with the best teaching staff and best academic records. One of the best things about this university is its location, residing just by the outskirt of the city with a very calm atmosphere. Once I've entered the university gate I feel a different vide and a boost in my confidence. But this serene atmosphere is often exploited by many of the student organizations with their petty demands. The students face certain problems in the academic calendar. There had been a lot of postponement starting from the admission procedure to the declaration of results. These things should be avoided for the betterment of the university.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Department of English and Cultural Studies has the best teaching staff that is very much adequate for the students. The department has many experience professors and associates. This faculty has been guest to many national and international seminars. And as they are often not in station to take their classes. This is one of the setbacks. However, there have been a lot of disturbances in the academic calendar due to certain unwanted factors. The examinations are up to the standards and we need to put our efforts to get the degree.

Course Fees : INR 10000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

There are programs to work as guest lectures for research scholars. This is the only program that is offered in this university. While conducting the research we get the opportunity to get the teaching experience as well as acquire more resources from the students.

Placement Experience :

Yes, there is the opportunity of campus placements. It is conducted generally in the last semester of the courses. A percentage of around 30-40 students would have got campus placements. My plans after receiving the degree is to pursue my PHD.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Manipur university offers a very affordable fee structure and it maintains it. There are lots of scholarship programs which you can apply for. You can apply for the MOBC scholarships, stipends for research scholars as well.

Campus Life :

The atmosphere of the university is calm and serene. We have a lot of fest every year. The University Annual Week, Manfete, University's Freshers' meet are some notable events. Recently the National Science Congress was held in Manipur University. The Library of Manipur University is a resource hub for the students, It provides all the needs of the students here. Almost all the classes of this university are up to date with smart class technology. Every year there is a Sports week which is an inter-department competition. There are a lot of social groups and clubs. The Books Club, Photography Club, Arts Club are a few prominent ones.

Sessions of our department are started in perfect time and also conducted examinations in a very fair and proper way . When some of the departments are conducted online exams , our department is doing offline exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took English in my Bachelor's , so i therefore went on and took that in my Master's too. In the University, the ratio of the Faculty could be summed as 6:4 in terms of sex. The professors were highly qualified as in their Academic qualification. The classes were held regularly and the test and exams weren't that hard

College Review

Admission:

I opt for this course because I think it is necessary for my career. This institution is the apex body of education in the state and is the only central govt. run college and so I chose it. I got through the entrance which is transparent to me, the admission process is quite fair and convenient and the dates provided are accurate, although sometimes we have to run here and there due to distance within the campus.
