Remarks

Like any other student, it was a dream to get into the prestigious college of the north campus. I scored 97.75% on the CBSE board and got my name in Miranda house, Hansraj college, and KMC. The college faculty and mentors are great and brilliant. The main aspect that any student is looking for is a crowd. The competitive crowd at Hansraj pushed you forward to go beyond your limits and think out of the box. Though it was online mode the admission process was very smooth and hassle-free. Just like anyone, I googled about colleges and courses to apply for like Shiksha, collegedunia to know the reviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Being a commerce student who is both good at accounts and economics it was really hard for me to choose between B.COM and ECO HONS. Here comes a thing, your interests I was pretty exicted about how and what things are going on in the economy and finance and strategy. So, If you are thinking to pursue CA while doing eco hons it is a bit difficult but you can do that too. The faculty is astonishing professors are graduated from prestigious institutions like Delhi School of economics, Oxford university etc. Their research papers are published in various international journals and their way of teaching is very friendly and understanding. The online exams were quite difficult but if one is consistent and thorough with the concepts then the paper can be easily done.

Internships Opportunities

5

This year more than 40 + companies offered internships opportunities to students of all streams. leverage Edu, CRY, KRG, ecoholics, etc there were stipends under Rs 10000 and placement offers, letter of recommendation, and performance-based stipends

Placement Experience

5

Hansraj college witnesses every year companies like Boston consulting companies, KPMG, Bain, and company, and many big Indian companies like zomato, leverage edu, etc. The 3rd students became eligible for placements. This year 85+ offers rolled out and the highest package was 19.25 lakhs per annum and the average package was 8.09 lakhs approx. although the pandemic hit the jobs very hard the Hansraj placement cell saw a 37% rise in recruiters in the college. Even I'm also looking to get into big companies like KPMG, BCG, etc to pursue my career in finance and strategy.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of ECO HONS in Hansraj college are around Rs 22000 looking at the fees and the opportunities offered by the institution are justified and relatively compatible. The cost of the study is very less and affordable. Their various scholarships offered to those who qualified the certain criteria for the scholarship. The internship fair at Hansraj witness over 40+ companies looking for interns. The internship is paid as well as unpaid.

Campus Life

5

I'm learning in online mode but I can tell via the experience of our seniors. Life at the campus is full of vibrant things from gathering of students to student unions ( political activities) to brainstorming sessions among students. In April August, the north campus witnesses huge numbers of events by different societies of colleges. There are many sports societies in the colleges itself for sports enthusiastic and many informal, as well as formal matches, took place in open grounds like cricket, badminton to name a few. You can many groups that are run by students like IFSA network, case connect club and many more you can find on Linkedin

Interview Experience

4.5

At my merit-based marks were the key to get into the college but outstand in such interviews- make sure you equipped yourself with sound knowledge of each and everything. You need to devote atleast 1 hour a day to prepare for the interview and develop communication skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
