Pranay Upadhyay's Review On Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute Of Technology - [DYPIT] Pimpri, Pune

Remarks :

Its a fair college when there is so much competition in India for engineering go for it learn and do what you are there for.

Entrance Preview :

AIEEE (now called JEE main) scored around 110 marks well only this college I could get with these marks.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Civil Engineering is an ever lasting course with everlasting demand. You can always learn something new though you might not earn as much as your IT counterparts during first year of your job yet it is innovative, creative and challenging field not for faint hearted.

Internships Opportunities :

No, its not in curriculum. And a college which is under a University can't do anything of its own (That's what our faculty use to say).

Placement Experience :

IT companies comes in excess. If you opt for core there is less scope on campus. Join any IT company if you get your by chance and not by choice, because they pay well But if you really want to work in your field try for IIT's or NIT's or any govt college, But first placement is only college dependent.

College Events :

There were Technical fests and departmental fest and lots of management chaos as many student just participate in these events to bunk classes. You can't expect them to be exciting because the local crowd is awful.Yeah they organised things but they need better leadership. If you are the one go for it.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is around 1 lakh per year for general and management quota student. Around 30 thousand for OBC and 5 thousand for SC/ST so you decide where you fall. I think the fees is too much for general students as compared to quality and infrastructure.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No such thing is there you may contact banks for that but yet you don't need to submit whole fees at once. You can submit it in equal installments.

Campus Life :

Campus life ends as soon as it starts campus is huge vertically but not horizontally. But there are plenty of places to chill out in Pune. Gender ratio is about per female 4 males (Yeah its an Engineering college) Co curricular sucks just maintain 75% attendance and be a teacher pet otherwise you wont score good.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is awful mess is optional. Hostel stinks, cleaning is generally not done.Previous year student will damage the whole hostel every year . Don't go for hostel But if you fear new environment go for it.Its only for First year so anyhow you need to live in flats and pg's thereafter.

Alumni/Alumna :

No alumni network in fact people even don't interact with seniors much may be it can improve. No one is helpful no one knows nothing.

Exam Structure :

Every month there are exams. Don't expect completion of course, because it wont just keep in mind to score first class in every exam and avoid backlogs because as a core student I can say off campus you will be judged on these factors. There are online exams and written exam and you have to pass separately in all. pattern changes every 4 years.

Faculty :

Faculties were not permanent they were changing every year , you can't depend on them at all. Though some of the top most faculty is good but still you have to work your ass off to get marks in University of Pune (Now sppu :/). Don't depend on any faculty at all.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th semester onwards are eligible for campus placements. Core Biomedical companies like GE, Medtronics, biosense etc and IT companies like TCS, JIO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI etc Recruit Biomedical Engineers. Most Biomedical Students prefer Masters over placements. 80 percent of students from selected candidates get placed. I will go for Placements and I will get into post graduation after clearing GATE 2023.

Remarks:

Location is most likely a factor for me. It is closed to my home. And the another factor is that, Different colleges offer different programs with their curriculum. For example, as an Engineering student, I had a set of classes that I was required to take, with little deviation apart from electives.

Placement Experience:

I haven't experienced placements yet. but yes the deserving students get internship every year. The whole staff of this college is very nice.

I would say that there are many other good colleges in pune for mechanical engineering , as the cut off of this colldge is low so students not willing to compromise on the branch can take admission here without any second thought .
