CUJ- An awesome place to study.

Remarks :

The college is really good if anyone wants to study at cheap college fees. Academics is good here. But, sports and extra curricular facilities are not upto the mark. Also the administration of college needs alot of improvement.

Entrance Preview :

I sat for CUCET-2014 (Central University Common Entrance Test). I scored 52 out of 100. I opted this college over other private universities because it has been established by an act of parliament in 2009. It is a central university and has its own reputation. Also the fee structure is very less around Rs.20,000 for a year. So its quite affordable for a student like me who belong from a middle class family.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is really good. CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) is followed here. Course has been designed by best faculties who hail from all over India. Although the center lacks a bit in the field of research and practical approach in the field of communication. But, with time, may be in coming 2-3 years it will improve.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes. This year students visited ETV hyderabad for two months as their internship. It was not a paid internship. The experience was really good and few of them was offered job there as well.

Placement Experience :

Most of the students from Center for Mass Communication got placed in ETV. Salary package of these students was around Rs. 2.4 lakhs per annum. Also, a few of them got placed in NGOs like sewa sanstha, smile india etc. They were placed at a package of around Rs.4 lakhs per annum.

College Events :

AKHRA is the cultural fest of our college. It is an international fest. Participants come from countries like Nepal, Bhutan Tibet, China etc. Quark Ensemble is the technical fest organised by the college. Many national level seminars are organised by the college in which students also get to participate in different events.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is very much affordable. It is around Rs. 20,000 per year for most of the courses. Most of the private colleges charge atleast Rs. one lakh a year for the same course. It is a most favorable study destination for anyone who can not afford such huge fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Freeships (full scholarships) and partial scholarships are provided by the college who belong to very weak families. Also many students have availed education loans and they are getting it easily on the brand name of a central university.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is about 50:50 in the campus. People have come from all over India. From South India to North Eastern states many people have come here to study. Many people from countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet have also studied in our campus. No student party has been formed till now.Ragging is an intolerable affair in the campus. Many workshops and seminars are organised every year from my center to help students grow in a better way.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are good as well. Room rent is only Rs. 200 per month. All the rooms are on triple sharing basis. It is fully furnished. Good drinking water facility is available. Mess charges are Rs. 2100 per month. Also, the food provided in the mess is healthy as well.

Alumni/Alumna :

Senior students have always been very friendly helpful. They consider us as their younger brothers and sisters. They have always mentored us and guided in the right direction.

Exam Structure :

It is not very hectic but not chilled out as well. The semester comprises of three sessional exams of 20 marks each. Out of these three best two marks gets added up in the final result. And finally semester exam for 60 marks takes place. So, every month we have to face five to six exams or presentations.

Faculty :

Faculties of my college are really good. They are very supportive to students. Most of them are very friendly and helping. Half of the faculty members are P.hD. holders. Most of them are pass outs of IIMC which is considered as IIT of media industry.
