Remarks :
The B.Tech in Biotechnology course offered in this college was ranked 3rd among other universities. The professor performs world-class research, holds good international positions. They were the authors of the biotechnology book which I studied in school. They are also strict while checking answer sheets and do not give leniency in attendance. Do the students need to maintain 75% attendance strictly and otherwise will not be allowed to sit in the examination. The admission process is easy, we cleared IPU CET for admission and top candidates were given admission upon submission of all required documents. The college has a good campus, the college brings gold medals in All India inter-university tournaments and in Delhi State Championship in Tug of War. It is located in Dwarka, thus have less pollution than in the city.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was always fond of science and technology and its implication for benefit of mankind. I opted for biotechnology as a major in school and college to enter the field of research and learn about real inventive technologies. The faculty to student ratio is 1:4, with 11 faculty members and a class size os if 40 students. The faculty are highly qualified from top Indian universities such as IIT, AIIMS, and from abroad universities as well such as Newcastle University. The teaching method is good and clarifies the doubts when asked in the most appropriate way. The exams occur in the month of May for odd semesters and in the month of December for even semesters. If you had cleared the concepts and understand the course, then to pass is a child's game.
Placement Experience :
8th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. About 1% of students get offered a job in a highly reputed company such as Bharat Biotech, Tapan Bio. There is not much placement for undergraduate students and we have to do post-graduation for good salary packages. My immediate plan is to pursue a PhD and later have a profession that combines research and teaching.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The annual fee is 64000. The university offers Scholarships for EWS ( Economic Weak Students ) based on their family income and their academics. The financial assistance is 50% of the total fees. There as such no campus jobs but students can participate in clubs for those who have an interest in Dance, drama, music, science, nature, etc.
Campus Life :
Anogoonj and poise are the annual tech cultural fests organized by students and funded by the university. It is conducted in the months of February and April. Other departments also conduct their annual fests. For our course, only limited books are available and most of the time we need to study from PDF. Display Projectors are used for the study. The college team brings gold medals in the All India inter-university tournament and Delhi state championship. Srijan clubs are organized and run by campus students. They include students who have an interest in drama, music dance, science, nature, etc
