Remarks :
The college is overall an average on all perspectives. Since it is government university, the college management is based on Delhi government but far more better than any other government sector or college. Any action related to work, extra curricular activities etc has to undergo a specific process. This depends on the work that is being done.
Entrance Preview :
CET(Common Entrance Test) is required to get an admission to this college. It depends on the score that we get in the examination. The ranks are accordingly given and counselling is scheduled. According, to the category in which you fall, the cut off list is released. The selection of college according to rank and the course which you want is done. So, luckily, if you fall in the eligible rank with more cutoff than any other student you will get the college of your choice.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is best designed by the teaching experts for each branch. It covers all the subject matter required for an engineering student to start from scratch to a profession level. The curriculum has been designed in such a way that the level increases from beginner to expert. If one studies in a proper way, the courses can further lead us to master level on specific topics for which lower level study is required.
Internships Opportunities :
The college does jot provide internship on its own. One can work under a teach with some project as a part of internship. But that also must be approved by a particular faculty and HOD so that the project he/she is doing is accepted as an internship at a later stage.
Placement Experience :
Placement is said to be on average basis. Where TCS is the major company which takes most of the students offering 3.33 lacs on an average. Other companies included Adobe,Samsung, Nagaroo, Polestar etc which gives 5 lac on average. The highest package was offered by Adobe and Samsung at 8 lacs. Also, students have to take part in placement ongoing in different colleges. Almost 70% of the students are placed every year in most of the branches. Remaining, students opt out dues to higher studies or students are not given a chance to sit as they do not qualify the criterion.
College Events :
Technical cultural festivals are conducted by the schools every year on their own. I am from USICT where TechSpace was the technical festival conducted in month of March. Various Technical activities fro each department are conducted for students.Similarly, Anugoonj, one of the major cultural festival is a three day long festival with various cultural events. Three different celebrities are called on this event as a part of cultural fest.Also, 120 colleges across Delhi are invited on both technical and cultural fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees for the college is feasible. Since one has to go for a CET test to be selected to the college, the fees for the university is Rs 50000. per year which is cheap comparatively,The hostel fees account to be 50000 per year inclusive of everything.The total cost for a student ranges to be 1 lakh per year if hostel taken in account.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I don' t know about the loan facility provided by the college. But scholarship and schemes are available all round the year for different students. There are various scholarships available such as for differently abled students.Students who are good at sports are given scholarships. Similarly, top most students of every school are given cash prizes and awarded with various prizes. Scholarships are also available for students in backward region.
Campus Life :
As usual, major part of campus covers Male students. 60% students are male while 40% are females. Students come from all over the country as well as different parts of country. I had friends who were part from Nepal, Bangladesh etc. So. being with them was also another part of experience of my life. They come from different background where different religion is seen with different race of people. But the festivals they celebrate with us made me realize that though they are from different parts of state, world, humanity is the first word that should be kept in one's mind. There are different societies in the campus such as Aveksha, Law, TechSpace etc where we can take part, learn and enhance our skills thus giving us ample opportunity to create our career. Apart form technical perspective sports and Anugoonj- cultural fest of university is conducted each year where 120 affiliated colleges gather around the university to take part in various events and activities.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel and food is one of the best facility available in the college. I would rate it on 5 by 5. Single room is given to each student either they are a boy or a girl. You can't opt for double/ triple occupancy. Due to the increasing demand, hostels are available only for students who are from outside Delhi. Delhi students are on low priority for hostel occupancy. Food as of is being cooked very properly keeping in mind all the healthy habits. The food is properly cooked and different types of varieties are cooked each day. The menu items changes every month which helps students in maintaining a better food quality.
Alumni/Alumna :
Senior students are one of the helpful ways to contact and interact to make a secure future. When you are in your early stage of college, seniors used to help us in many ways, whether it is related to your work, classes etc. Placement is also one of the major factor where the senior used to guide us for a better way to take part in various placement activities.Moreover, the final year projects were a major part where our seniors helped us.
Exam Structure :
Exam seems to be hectic and long conducted in GGSIPU. Two minors and one major exam combines to be one semester. So the semester starts form Aug to Dec and Jan to May. First minor is held around Sep and Feb. While the second minor is held around nov 1st week and april 1st week. The major exam for odd semester is in Dec and even semester in mid May. The minor consists of 30 marks(15 each) while the major holds 70 marks.
Admission :
I got the admission through CET test. The notification is usually released in march and all the necessary documents starting from your class 10 certificates, caste certificate is required. The administration is full operational and supportive during five months of admission time. All the doubts are cleared before you proceed for further rounds.
Faculty :
All the faculty hold minimum Mtech degree to PHD being the highest one. The rank depends on the experience the teacher is having. But, each teacher holds 5 years of teaching experience. Sometimes, even teachers are assigned for a different course apart from their learning experience.
