Entrance Preview :

I have appeared for the IIT JAM exam conducted by IIT's for MSc admission in 2015. I got a rank of 441. I was in general category and I got admission IN VNIT Nagpur, because it was near to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview :

First of all note that this is a Applied physics department. Most of the faculties are from Material science field. Also the syllabus is material science oriented. Anyway there are 1-2 theoretical physics teachers. Anyway study load is less compared to other NIT's. And always, you can find some time to study the other topics you want.

Internships Opportunities :

For Msc students, no companies offer internship. But you can always apply for internship after 1 year, in IITs and TIFR, they offer around 8K, which you are going to spend for accommodation and food. No, stipend or scholarship for Msc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For Msc Physics semester fees is 11,000/. Hostel + mess fees 33,000/-. Around 1.8L will be spend for completing the course. around 20 K you will get back as mess refund. The mess is expensive. The Hostel rent and other allied service is worth the money. If you can find a room outside and ready to cook, then it will be more better.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is good,you can get a single room. Rooms are actually okay, with good view of the lake. Also 4 seater rooms are available. Hostel+ mess fee is around 33,000 per semester. You cannot omit mess fee.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure :

2 small exams of 15 marks, 1 big exam of 60 marks is conducted for every subject. Additional 10 marks is given as teachers assessment. Every month you will have an exam. All exams will be conducted as per the schedule.

Admission :

The admission was conducted as per the IIT jam rank. If you were under 750 and belonged to general category, you could have got here. For other category students, 1500 was enough. There were vacant seats in our batch. This year the vacant seats were filled by conducting an another exam by the institute.

Faculty :

You can find all kind of teachers here. The highly motivating one, caring one, the careless one, the one you wonder how he got the job here. All kinds of teachers are there. If you want to finish the course, you have to tolerate some introvert teachers also. Neglecting one teacher I would say, the faculty is good.

That course gave me a good career option. I got job in a private school with a better salary but in IT section it is difficult to get a job by this course because it is not a technical educational course that's why I rated only 5 for this course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I personally liked the subject I chose for my post-graduation studies. The teachers prepare us for the exam in class itself. They cover the syllabus and take our practice of the exam and gaining knowledge. The timing of the exam is a little issue in our college. The college provides us with only 2 hours 30 minuutes timing for 60 marks theory exam.

CEBS mumbai! An excellent science institute .

Placement Experience:

From 10 sem itself as it is a 5 year Integrated course. usually people go for PhD abroad many of them are in cambridge and oxford and other institutes around the world and some ewitch towards IIMs and Startups. Basically BARC provide job opportunity for 54k permonth and you can always get appraisals after finishing trainning school. I'm planing a Phd abroad in genome editing field.

Placement Experience:

By the end of sem3 itself, the postgraduates are deployed into interviews for certain internships. But if you are with good academic scores and knowledge you can even get directly placed. Every individual is given 3 chances by the college to get and crack the interview but if the student is not able to then he is guided to where to apply but mostly ICRI makes sure everyone is placed as the college proudly stays with its 100% placement tag line. As I told here there are varied background people here with different needs of roles, the highest package I have seen getting is 15L pa to the lowest of 3L pa which even depends upon the company to your broad spectrum of knowledge. To specify which companies come here for recruitment are sun pharma, Cipla, and many more there are all 20+ companies that come and hire the intellectuals. To specify about me I am planning to get a CRC post as a start for CRA in the future.
