Remarks :
Good, but need lot of improvement specially in hostel facilities, library etc.I don't like campus politics,they are ruining the system.labs needs to be improved a little.
Entrance Preview :
WBJEE, I opted for jadavpur university because it is one of best college in country.it as good placement, infrastructure and research facilities. Letter of recommendation carry large weight for admission in foreign universities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course structure focus a lot on research. Most of teachers are involved in research so do students. Most students go for research and higher studies. Students are doing equally good in examination like GATE ,CAT etc. Each year many students get admitted to top colleges like IISC, and top business schools like IIM Ahmedabad. Most students get placed from campus recruitment.
Internships Opportunities :
Companies like amazone, microsoft, Adobe, samsung research etc vist every year from braches like mechanical and electrical get internship in companies like siemens,reliance, rolls royace, honey well, maruti suzuki etc.
Placement Experience :
Placement depend on branch. CS ,IT and ECE have almost 100% placement. Others branches have also good placement. Average placement Cs-13Lpa, IT-8LPA, ECE-7 LPA, Rest 6-7 LPA. From braches like mechanical and electrical get internship in companies like siemens,reliance, rolls royace, honey well, maruti suzuki etc.
College Events :
Sanskri (cultural fest) Srijan (tech fest ) there are other events orgained by each dept too sanskri is one of best culrural fest of eastern india,which lasts for 7 days srijan is tech cum gaming fest with events like junkyard wars ,coding events,debate etc along with fifa, NFS etc. departmental fest are trajectory ( mechanical ) ,chameatholon ( chemical ) etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Jadavpur university is one of the cheapest college in india. Its fee is 10,000 for 4 years. Fee of IT is 30000 per semester.you are required to pay rs 5000 at time of councillning and rs 710 at time of admission. Fee is affordable and I think anyone can afford it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I don't have much idea, but I know about alumni association scholarship. They are non profit organisation and NGOs also provide scholarship like FFE, NSW, ONGC etc.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio depends on course. In engineering it is less while in arts and science it is more. Moreover in engineering it also depends on branch. For cs it ece and chemical ,the ratio is 3:1 while branches like civil and mechanical have ratio 9:1. There is no gender discrimination in college. Events are organised to minimize gender discrimination in country.
Hostel Facilities :
Jadavpur university has non residential campus hostels are provided to only those who are economiclly weak. Hostel fee is very low accommodation and food are average, not that good most students stay in PG, which quality depend on amount of money you spend.
Alumni/Alumna :
Jadavpur university has strong alumni network and most alumni are quite helpful. There is no ragging in campus and awesome junior-senior interaction.
Exam Structure :
Exams are quite frequent we have each semester of 6 months with 2 class tests between each semester.odd semesters are longer and even semesters are short.class test carry 30% weight and semester weighs 70% for calculating final result. We have viva of sessional subjects.
Admission :
It takes place through online counselling you are required to fill the online choice once the results are out after your seat allotment you are required to attend the college for document verification this is carried out for 3 round. Each round has seat up-gradation. You can lock or slide your options and finally you have to get admitted by paying rs 5710 and with your original documents and if any vacant seat is left, there is last round called spot round.
Faculty :
All teachers are highly qualified most are Ph.D educated from top educational Institutions in world they show interest in teaching. They are student friendly and are ready to help anytime in sort they are awesome their letter of recommendation carry huge weight for admission in foreign universities.
