Bipasha Kashyap's Review On Jyoti Nivas College - [JNC], Bangalore

Remarks :

Good for maintaining two halves equally: Academics and co-curricular. Provides a lot of internship opportunities. Placements available. Scholarships available for studying abroad. Provides equal access to opportunities for everyone doesn't matter where they come from. Security education for underprivileged to physically challenged students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course which I am into is psychology, sociology and English. English is further divided into 3: Optional English, General English and language. Teachers are cooperative and friendly. Academics is pretty strong.

Placement Experience :

Company visits for placements depends on the department you opt for. But yes in general companies like google and Microsoft can be seen coming. Don't know much about the alumni networking. Haven't had a meeting for any reason.

College Events :

I lot of extra curricular activities could be seen. Starting from sports, music and all the probable happenings. Scintillation is one of the biggest events that our college holds. The technical team does it's job pretty well. International guests are invited over and there's a footfall of more than 10000 people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I particularly chose this course for Macro and Micro Economics which interest me so much. The course is designed in a specific way so as to increase the students' skill and understanding in core subjects revolving economics and make them future ready for critical thinking and problem solving in the field of economics. The exams are conducted four times a semester (3 interim tests and 1 Final exam). The interim tests are conducted once every month and final exams are conducted in the ending 4th month

Placement Experience:

Placements are good enough for IT fields and you will get a decent amount of package. But if you want core placements we may get a few companies with few jobs so you should be competitive enough to crack these. Last year our college got the highest package of 52LPA. An average package is around 7.5 LPA.

Our college infrastructure is not good compared to other colleges in Davanagere city. However, the classrooms are very good, and projectors are available in all classrooms. Labs are very good. Hostel facilities are good, but the fee is more compared to other colleges

Admission:

The admission was on the basis of 10+2 board examination and I applied to the college through their official website where the application form was available. The admission process was easy and I got selected, after I was called upon the campus for the counselling session.

At the end of last year the college arranged placements for the students. The average package run between Rs.5 to 8 lakhs per annum with 80% of the students getting placed. Various hospitals, institutes came to interview including a Grayson, Indian heart clinic.
