Remarks :
Since childhood, I wanted to be doctor, and do something for the welfare of our society. As we all know, the doctor -patient ratio in India is skewed, and resource allocation in health care sector is not upto the mark, so opting for MBBS and trying to alleviate this problem in future was one of my primary goal. IMS was my next best option other than the central institutes like AIIMS, because of ambience of the university campus, the rich heritage of the college and its NIRF ranking(always within top 5).Also it is the first 'AIIMS like' central institute of India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well designed and a perfect balance of academic as well as extra curricular activities.giving enough scope nurturing our inner talent. The faculties are also very supportive and helpful and always encourage us to give our best in every field.
Placement Experience :
Basically everyone has to qualify NEET PG to get a seat for residency. Seat is purely based on merit, though there is 50% seat reservation for internal students but that also depends on rank. There are total of 200 PG seats.
College Events :
The campus life is great, we have students from different streams and different faculties all within the same university campus. We have an annual fest called ELIXIR organised by 3rd year students of MBBS in which medical students from different colleges all over India participate in different competitions and showcase their talent. Various health camps are also organised under NMO(National Medical Organisation) which take us different regions of India to address to their problems. College also organises it's set of annual literary and extra curricular events. Though there is paucity of an organised cultural and management committee.
Campus Life :
Though it is a government college and the buildings are a bit old(specially the hostels) but recently many reforms are taking place to make it upto the mark. Sport facilities are not that good but there is free WiFi available in every campus building. Lab equipments and library facility is also adequate.
