Remarks :
I think I had a pleasant experience during my college days and apart from some rare tussle with lecturers regarding any matter, it was a good and enjoyable experience.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Yes, the course curriculum and exam structure was fair enough. It was relevant but there were no industrial visits and not much campus placements at that time. The learning curriculum was groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge, but since there were no placements at that time, there was no job guarantee once you finished the course.
Placement Experience :
At that time, the placement drives were not there. It is possible that things may have changed now and companies could be visiting the campus and placements could have started.
College Events :
We used to have an annual day every year and sometimes, it used to be held at Shanmukhananda Hall at Kings Circle, Matunga. There were huge audiences at that time and it used to be fun and enjoyment during that time. We used to wait eagerly for the annual events.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure was reasonable and there was transparency in the fee breakdown. If you had a good percentage of marks in SSC, no additional fees were required. The mode of payments were either cash, cheque or demand draft at that time. They used to provide particular dates for securing admission and paying fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I did not apply for any scholarship or education loan. And I have no idea about the eligibility criteria and procedure.
Campus Life :
The campus life was good. Students were there from different states of India and extracurricular activities as well as sports were good. There was good tolerance even though the students were from diverse backgrounds. The debate competitions were quite lively and we could gather a lot of information.
Hostel Facilities :
No, I did not opt for any hostel accommodation. I used to go from my house. It was close to my house at walkable distance and I used to take approximately 15 minutes to reach my college. I am not aware if there was any hostel accommodation at that time.
Alumni/Alumna :
No, unfortunately I could not interact much with my seniors and I was not in touch with them. At that time, there were no mobile phones and that could be one reason for being out of touch.
Admission :
It is a reputed institution. There was a merit list process. At that time, the cut-off percentage was 80%. We had to fill up admission forms and wait in queue at that time in 1983 when I cleared SSC. I felt that Science was a good subject and there would be many opportunities in future.
Faculty :
There were about 10 lecturers in my course and the average age was around 30 years. They had good expertise on the subjects that they were teaching. I was not aware about their experiences or other certifications. The lecturers were quite friendly and ready to help with any questions.
