Amar Nath Kapadia's Review On Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Institute Of Management Technology And Research - [PDIMTR], Nagpur

Remarks :

I am truly thankful to my alma mater and never criticise my college at any cost. Though during study period, we used to keep nagging and bring faults of management but those were our mistakes. Now, I realise we need to live and learn and develop skills in the given sources. That's what mangement is all about. Managing self, family, business and society is what is important. Truly indebted.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Yes, the course was devised mahaharshtra CTET body. My college was under Nagpur University and course was very much relevant wrt industry standards and demands. Moreover, intra college competition like paper presentation, quizes, management role plays and other activities were undertaken to sharpen the soft skills of th student. Though, there was no in house placement, but as an individual I tried to get the job based on my learnt skill set and hard work.

Placement Experience :

I had availed my internship at Thermax Babcok Limited in Pune. I took the study of inventory management and accordingly was able learn the office culture and importance of inventory at the manufacturing company. Though, at the end final placement did not happen, but I managed to get my job on my own terms and with my own conviction, courage and hard work.

College Events :

Yearly function of college fest was tak of the college. At the same time, various inter college level competiton on monthly basis used to happen. It was truly a learning experience for me. Moreover, student used to participate in the various national level and state level events to get the best out of the every individual.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It was feasible and not much as I got the college through merit quota. Had I gone under management, I would had to pay 60000 per year for MBA. I hade got the admission through merit, hence I had to pay out Rs. 18000/ for one year. It was a 2 year course and it was truly a learning and life changing phase was there.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Since fees was approx 18000 per year i.e Rs. 36000 for two year course excluding lodging & fooding. I did not avail any loan and neither did I apply for any scolarship. I had put in hard work to shape my career in the right direction.

Campus Life :

Campus Life was very much learning. Our of 60 students, there were aprrox 15 girl students in my batch of 2004-2006. There was no in-house campus hostels but few students used to take rooms/ accomodation in the near by areas. There were no racism/casteism. We enjoyed our campus Life to the utmost.

Hostel Facilities :

No hostel facility. Student outside the area used to take flat on rent on sharing basis and used to enjoy their campus and classes. Even, I took accomodation with one of my colleage after getting admission in the college.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, we have an alumnus community and we participate in the annual fest of the college. People have risen to the corporate level at various posts. It's indeed helps in networking and healthy negotiations. We are connected through watsapp, linkedin's etc and do share our experiences and inputs.

Admission :

Through an entrance exam of MH CET. I always wanted to pursue my MBA in Mumbai or Pune college. Owning to less marks, I could not get those cities and accordingly opted for Nagpur. Though I visited personally to every college, but they demanded hefty donations to book my seats. I did not had that much money, so I opted the college of Nagpur by not succumbing to the circumstances. Today, I moulded my destiny with my hard work, courage and conviction. I am happy with what I am today.

Faculty :

Professor was very knowledgeable and approachable. Most of the faculty members were holding PHD and was doing research in the management field. Overall it was learning phase for me as a student. There was 7 to 8 professors having an average age of 35 to 40 years. Professors were expert in their own fields

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Remarks:

I love my college as the way it is, wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Admission:

I was earlier classed into the pool of NRI students as I had completed my 10th and 12th graduation from abroad. I however did not want to register as an NRI student and wrote the MH-CET which is the state entrance exam and the field under which I chose it was engineering. I managed to attain a good rank and get admission into my required branch and field at Symbiosis Institute of Technology. I attempted the MH-CET exam some time around the beginning of May. I chose the course of Electronics and Telecommunication as it particularly interested me and the main interest in Symbiosis was generated through the fact that one of my cousins had studied there and overall I had heard a lot about Symbiosis especially in the Pune circle. The steps required in this process were i) Application through the Symbiosis Admission Portal ii) Attachment of all relevant documents for verification iii) A counselling session in which all the ranked candidates where invited and offered seats iv) A final verification and admission confirmation
