College review

Remarks :

College is good overall although there are certain new things that should be implemented and some current managements can be made better.

Course Curriculum Overview :

learning was good at my institution as they strived to give us both theoretical and practical field knowledge. We also had sessions, gathering and workshops in college hall from time to time.we had ample amounts of lab and machines to work on in the practicals. There was a projector in every lab for teacher to eplain codes and logic to students.

Placement Experience :

Though our college didn't had a huge campus but for placement purposes not much but some companies would come to our college or we were informed by our college for attending campus pools arranged in other colleges.we also had couple of mock interview sessions.

College Events :

There were cultural events at time of navratri, one techinical event every year which had games and competitions. There were various days celebrated in the month of February.we had induction program at the beginning of our course which gave us the introduction to the course, curriculum and lecturers.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure was feasible to some extent.College accepted fees by cash or cheques or online via banking apps. There no extra fee charges to secure admission to the course beside fee structure. And college provided very little transparency in fee breakdown.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

unfortunately not for open categories.I didn't got any scolarship throughout my course.only the obc and sc categories got scolarships.Sc category used to get almost about the whole amount of fees back or 90% of it.

Campus Life :

Campus life was good.extra curricular activities could be better.labs were good.competitions such as robotics should be included.Gender ratio was good. There were no student/dorm parties allowed by college in college campus.Student diversity with regards to gender, ethinicity, race, religion was there. Some with regard to economic status too.

Hostel Facilities :

unfortunately our college didn't provide scolarships for general category students but there was scolarship of obc and sc categories. The students of sc and obc categories have to fill up forms online and submit its hard copy to college office in order to apply.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumi network and senior students were helpful to some extent. The alumnis used to visit college sometimes and share there past experiences of college and current experiences of field they used to work in.

Admission :

i got admitted after clearing the entrance exam and on the basis of merit.I chose the course because i was always in tech things from beginning so found computer science a good option and i joined the institution as my friend studied there before an told me about the faculty and things about the institution which seemed nice to me.

Faculty :

we had almost around 8 lecturers from which 6 used to teach us.All were in age group of 30 to 35.All of them were graduates while couple of them had industry experience. The faculty used to discuss about the workshops and sessions that were to be held for the students. They also called expertise for the sessions.Sometimes inspirational speakers were invited by our faculty to inspire students to work in different IT fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Remarks:

I love my college as the way it is, wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Admission:

I was earlier classed into the pool of NRI students as I had completed my 10th and 12th graduation from abroad. I however did not want to register as an NRI student and wrote the MH-CET which is the state entrance exam and the field under which I chose it was engineering. I managed to attain a good rank and get admission into my required branch and field at Symbiosis Institute of Technology. I attempted the MH-CET exam some time around the beginning of May. I chose the course of Electronics and Telecommunication as it particularly interested me and the main interest in Symbiosis was generated through the fact that one of my cousins had studied there and overall I had heard a lot about Symbiosis especially in the Pune circle. The steps required in this process were i) Application through the Symbiosis Admission Portal ii) Attachment of all relevant documents for verification iii) A counselling session in which all the ranked candidates where invited and offered seats iv) A final verification and admission confirmation

The merit list is announced on the basis of entrance exam score. We were called for counselling and had to deposit the fee as soon as possible in order to reserve the seat.

Admission process was through DTE. CAP rounds were scheduled before which we have to fill our all details and get it verified at ARC centre with original documents. Then fill the option form, and wait for the results. I got selected in cap round after which I confirmed my admission at the college.
