Entrance Preview :
ACJ entrance exam, i scored not too good in GK but my English paper went pretty satisfying and that is why my name got listed. I opted for this college because it ranks among top 10 J-schools in India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for New Media and was offered the same. My electives were Photo Journalism, Child Rights, Development Journalism. Also, we went for deprivation trip to cover news from a very deprived place. Also, we ha to do one investigative journalism.
Internships Opportunities :
There were no internship in between of the course as it was just a 10-month course. After the competition, we were offered placements and job opportunities. Almost everyone were placed.
Placement Experience :
Almost everyone were placed. Those who were not placed in the last months, faculties were kind enough to give some contacts or links to apply asnd so in a span of 2-3 months, everyone were placed. Companies like Network 18, SaddaHaq, Indian Express, Times Now came. They offered around atleast a package of 3 lakhs per annum.
College Events :
We were called to all major or minor events happening in Chennai and around in order to cover them. I participated in Beti Bachao Campaign, programme on Women empowerment in Hyatt, News in New Media, etc. We were given a farewell party in college campus and convocation were held at the Music Academy.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I wanted to go for a loan facility, but banks don't provide loan for this college. So, no loans availability for this college and you have to manage on your own, Few got scholarship, but I don't have much idea upon it.
Campus Life :
Girls ratio is more than boys. Three floors were given to girls and one to boys. Campus life is good. There is wi-fi, a lush-green garden, TT and badminton court. Infrastructure is awesome and it seems you are not in India. It is too beautiful. Only a problem in hostel part is that boys can easily enter girls' one and vice versa.
