Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was designed in such a way that it focused on different areas in all the 4 semesters which involved understanding society, health, consumer, sports, gender, personality related concepts and many more which was very beneficial for the research purposes.
Placement Experience :
The summer internship provided in the second semester was the best part of the course as per me because I really got to learn under some great psychologist who taught me the variation in the mindset of industries , organisations and even for our career perspective that too practically.
College Events :
When it comes to events, we had various psychology conferences, seminars, workshops ,etc in the area concerned to stress reduction, health , gender perspectives, etc which gave a different vision to our life.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for the entire course which I pursued was 6.60 lakh, which was quite nominal as the course designed was so well structured. Even there was fee waiver for different categories such as for girl students or for the students from north east region.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As I was from J & K , they offered me scholarship of 20% ,which they provide basically to the students from the states of J & k and the north-east. That really helped alot and made me take the course, travelling all the way from J & K.
Campus Life :
I really enjoyed the period of those two years of the course as I used to participate in the various activities of different clubs designed there such as aawaz and writer club, attending guest lectures, movie screening and alot more.
Alumni/Alumna :
This journey was possible because of So many reasons and one of the reasons was the support and guidance from the seniors which helped me learn more and more and explore more and more so I would say if you need a good campus life , then you need to interact with the seniors.
Admission :
Understanding society is something I was really interested in and I knew this course can help me with a better understanding of humans. So for the admission in M.A psychology, there was no entrance test & they shortlisted the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in graduation also including the extra curricular activities. A statement of purpose was also asked to be submitted along with the personal interview.
Faculty :
Most of our faculty members were good. They were really supportive, specially when you consider psychology, they provided us with individual counselling & training. Professor (Dr.) Neeru singh, with a post doctoral in psychological well being among young adults, was among the best faculty members of our department.
