Remarks :
Cent percent placements is a USP of our college and it helps students to achieve want they have worked hard for 3 years in college. The building has 8 floors in total and the place according to me is very well utilized. Everyone studying or working here puts all their efforts to improve on a daily basis. The seriousness and discipline involved in this profession are made to understand from the very first day. All the courses here are tailor made for students who want to purse a career in culinary art and not a hotel management degree, i was one among them. Thanks to our principal Chef Sudhakar N Rao and HOD Chef Akshay Kulkarni who did a commendable job of bifurcating the two and providing a platform for many. Admission procedure is quite simple to follow, one needs to fill in a form, wait for their turn to attend the on campus 3 step admission procedure. Results are based on the performance of the person in a written, GD and a personal interview. Post Covid things did change.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Chef instructors and all the faculty are knowledgeable and highly qualified. they are all kind, amicable, helpful but at the same time very strict and rigid, which i think is required to mold a student in the right way. the curriculum is fabricated for culinary students focusing more upon hand-on practical and less and important theory. the training tenure is rigorous and very intense just like how the industry operates. each class is divided into two batches so that there would be enough attention given to every student. in the final year, each student is allotted with a mentor from the area of interest chosen by the students which will help them to discuss and improve their skills. this also aides them to prepare for the interviews, placements and other grooming aspects a professional is expected to have. According to me it is different from person to person when it comes to exams. one needs to utilize the time and resources available as much as possible.
Internships Opportunities :
after the 3rd semester students are supposed to finish 4 months of internship at hotel anywhere in the country or sometimes even outside the country is possible (student needs to find one for themselves in such cases). choice of city is left to the student and possible hotels in that city are requested by the college. an interview would be conducted either online or offline and upon selection further documentation is carried. stipend for 4 months is paid every month but the amount depends and varies from hotel to hotel. the internship is considered as 4th semester and end of the internship a group project presentation and training report is evaluated for the final semester external exam.
Placement Experience :
throughout 5th and 6th semester on site campus placements will be happening. top star hotel brands like TAJ, ITC, OBEROI GROUP, PARK, LEELA, GRT, CLUB MAHINDRA, etc., one person can sit for as many interviews as possible and chef instructors are always available to guide you and train you for the interviews. cruise line companies also visit the campus for the same. the salary and package totally depends on the level you are hired and the company hiring. students from CAI are always given the highest possible rank in the hierarchy of the kitchen. cent percent placements is an USP for CAI, so its sure that one would get a job end of 3 yrs of study.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
3 yr bachelors degree the fee is comparatively very less from other top colleges in the country, not that they compromise on the quality, also i strongly say that they are on par or even a better in this regard. it may differ from year to year but is affordable for many. there is no scholarship grants available, for more information you can contact the college between 9 am to 5 pm for any assistance or queries. bachelors degree consists of 6 semesters, 2 per year. after 3 semester 4 months of internships in start hotel all across India in a must and is considered as a semester in itself. choice of city is left for students and the faculty is also there to guide you to find the best hotel property. after a successful interview you can go join the internship. the stipend is decided and notified by the hotel you have got selected for. campus interview for job placements will happen throughout 5th and 6th semester. hotel brands visit the college for the onsite campus placements.
Campus Life :
the library is situated in the 5th floor. it has plenty of books for students with different interests. it is always stacked with new editions and releases. daily newspapers, food magazines are also available here. library is a place where every CAI student cherishes for their rest of their life for sure. December is the busiest month and the college is all decked up to celebrate Christmas fruit mixing ceremony, great grand GALA buffet. it is so much fun to participate and contribute to the events happening in college on a regular basis. national festivals like independence day, republic day are also celebrated. annual sports meet is conduced for 2-3 days outside campus. class rooms are well illuminated and spacious with white and green boards and a projector facility. culinary competitions also take place ads students represent and have won many awards for the colleges at various regional and national level competitions .
Hostel Facilities :
a hostel for boys is close to college with well maintained rooms and washrooms. there is no hostel for girls but can help in finding a pg or an apartment. the boys hotel is not inclusive of meals and cooking facility is not available. there are a lot of places where one can eat around the hostel since it is in a residential area. smoking and drinking is absolutely prohibited. lunch is provided in college for all the students. the lunch is cooked by students and the menu changes on a daily basis where students get to learn new cuisines and techniques also get to eat different food. quality of food is always high and fulfilling . hostel registration is taken care by the administrations department, you can reach out to them and ask for a hostel facility once admission is confirmed. it is very safe and affordable according to me.

Interview Experience :
its is a 3 step admission process at brand CAI. firstly a form is filled and submitted. shortlisted candidates need to appear for the 3 step admission process on campus on a notified date. grooming is very important while attending the interview. they start of by a written test, followed by a group discussion and finally a personal interview. written test is based on mathematics, some general knowledge, English, and an aptitude test. topics for group discussion and interview keeps changing and never the same. speaking skills, behavior, attitude, grooming are the key points here to create an impression, remember every round is an elimination. acquire some good general knowledge of whats happening in and around the country. basic knowledge about of food can also help you in any way, but you are not judged on the level of food knowledge. my only target was to stand out of the crowd when in a group discussion and personal interview. be polite, have a smile and just calm down.
