Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is designed to lead us from the basics to more detailed sections of design. The curriculum recognises that the students come into the college without too much of an idea about design, and helps is understand properly. The specialisations, projects and showcases help us hone our skills.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario at NIFT Jodhpur has been consistently improving every year. Many reputed firms recruit from college, such as Zomato Media, Voylla, Shades and You, Reliance, Raymond, Nykaa, Manyavar and Khimjee Hansraj. Many students get good jobs in such companies. Internships aren't provided, and that is usually something the students look for themselves.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive. The whole Bachelor's degree costs more than 11 lakh rupees, which is a significantly high amount. Although the college provides good infrastructure and placement, it still stands on the expensive side.
Campus Life
Workshops on a variety of topics are held regularly to help the students develop their skills. Extracurricular activities are common, like music or dance, and sporting activities. Sports complex and open-air theatre are there in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. The living conditions are good, and there are proper amenities available such as mess, canteen and so on. The cost of living in hostels is not very high.
Admission
Admission to NIFT is through the common admission test. Students can sit for the entrance exam after 10+2. NIFT is the premier institute for design and fashion technology in the country, which prompted me to apply here. The Jodhpur campus was still very new when I joined way back in 2016, but it falls in the same state as where I live, so I chose it for reasonably close distance. The entrance exam has quantitative and analytical and reasoning questions.
Faculty
The faculty members of the college are all very qualified in their respective domains and they are very experienced. They helped us students understand the difficult subjects, and were always available when we needed their support. It's because of their support that we're all well-conditioned for industry.
