Remarks :
Admission to the University is based on Jee Mains rank and it generally starts from mid-July every year. There are a variety of courses that are offered, from Computer Science to Electrical to Mechanically related branches. It has one of the biggest and lush-green campuses across India. Everyone is quite innovative here. There's a healthy competition among students. It pushes you to work even harder. Every year no. of seat increases by 5-8%, and this might lead to a stiff competition so this could be a little turndown for some people. I used Collegedunia while selecting the College.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had some interest in robotics and embedded design so I chose Electronics and Communication. All faculties are well qualified in their respective subjects. Most of them are PhD and have a decent educational background. Faculty: student ratio is around 1:50. In a single semester, there are two main exams: Midterm, Endterm. Rest of the academic weightage is on internal and Labs. One week's time for midterms and two week's time for end terms is enough for getting good marks.
Internships Opportunities :
Some companies that offer interns include Google, Microsoft, DE Shaw, Arcesium, Codenation, Sprinklr, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Samsung, Amazon, Flipkart, Morgan Stanley. All the above companies offer a stipend in the range Rs 50k-1 lakh.
Placement Experience :
One becomes eligible for placement, after the end of the 6th semester. Around 200 companies come to recruit students every year for different profiles ranging from Software Developer to Hardware engineer to Analyst to other core roles. Some of the big fishes are Google, Microsoft, Condensation, Amazon, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Qualcomm, Samsung, Bain. Highest package: 1.09 Cr. by Facebook London(International), 52 Lakh by Atlassian (Domestic) Lowest package: 4 Lakhs, Average package: 8-10 Lakhs. Almost 95% of the eligible students get placed in software branches and around 80% in Mechanical/ Civil/ Biotech.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The four-year academic fee plan is given in the ordinance provided during admission. For the session 2018-2022, the total academic fee was close to Rs. 7.5 Lakhs. There is a scholarship program for financially weak students. The amount of scholarship depends upon family income which can vary from 25%-100% of the yearly fee.
Campus Life :
DTU hosts one of the biggest cultural fests, Engifest, across India which is organized in February every year. There are a number of tech. fest that DTU organizes every year. The college has a pretty big library which has books for every course. The infrastructure of the college is really good, We have labs for every department with all the necessary equipment. A separate space is allocated for sports activities. It has football, cricket, basketball, Table-Tennis, Badminton courts, and a Gym also. There are a lot of societies that are run by students, some of them are IEEE, IOSD, Enactus, D-Coder, etc.
