Review

Remarks :

The campus of the universe is beautiful and vast. You can just see greenery all around' with different crops growing through out the year. It's a blessing to be in such a beautifully placed campus with every facility

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is professional. The degrees related to agriculture and allied sciences are very unique. The are graduates from the college are in demand and have surplus opportunities for jobs and also to become entrepreneurs. The university follows ICAR 5th dean's committee report for the curriculum, which is comprehensive and is followed through out the country

Placement Experience :

The job opportunities are immense. You can see an agriculture graduate in every industry. The experiential learning program in the final year of the course is one of its kind where students have an insite of the functioning of different types of industries related to agriculture

College Events :

There are different events organised in the university by different clubs, like the debate competitions, freshers party, hostel functions etc. The students are also encouraged to participate in various events outside the university at national and international platforms

Fee Structure And Facilities :

it's is less than the other professionals courses like engineering and MBBS. The fees are nominal as it is a government University and alot of grants comes in from the center and state. There are many scholarship and fellowship programmes as well, where the students can get a concession in the fee depending on the merit

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

During my PhD. I had applied for a government of India, Inspire fellowship, given by Department of science and technology. However, during my graduation days, I was awarded university fellowship which depends upon the merit of the student

Campus Life :

The campus life is calm and stress free. The ratio of female to male is 60:40. There is a squash court, a ground for football an NCC ground and a shopping centre. You can also visit the town on Wednesday, Saturday where the university provides the bus facilities

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I stayed in the hostel and of course it was an experience for life. You learn to be independent, handle different situations and make your better person. Although there are around 6 girls and 4 boys hostel, still if one doesn't manage to get a room because of larger occupancy, there are PGs and studio apartments get near to the entrance of the university. If one wishes to stay in the city (Solan) which is 13 kms from the university, there is a university bus available

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni association is an amazing platform where all the alumni are connected right from the start of the university. Also every senior is very warm and helpful. The alumni group are also made state wise, where everyone tries to meet atleast twice in a year is not more.

Admission :

An entrance exam is conducted by the university as well as admission through the common entrance test by ICAR for all the agricultural Universities. The university also offers a self funded seats where the fee structure is higher and the admission is also on the basis of merit.

Faculty :

The faculty is well read, experienced and have great exposure. The minimum UGC guidelines are followed during the recruitment process. The faculty is promoted only on thr basis of the scoring and assessment. University also gives funds to the faculty to get exposure about the new techniques where in they can go abroad or to any national institutes of repute for upgrading their skills
