Entrance Preview :
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance. Was referred to the college by a friend.I was interested in Electrical engineering, but this college was not the exactly the kind of place that teaches you anything. But I have to say, I had a lot of fun with co-curricular activities. The college is poor when it comes to academics. But is a gem of place to learn and discover your selves. Being on the foot hills of kodaikanal, you get to experience both the best and worst of tamil nadu.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum was great as the college was affiliated to Anna university.Anna university has great study material. The elective of the college was limited to the last year.If memory serves me right, we had the option to chose from Advanced electrical design or VLSI, also the choice to chose from TV and wireless communication for our electronics papers.
Internships Opportunities :
Rarely any companies visited for internship. We were stuck with out jobs when we passed out, to make things worse we got out during the height of recession.
College Events :
This was one aspect of the that I truly enjoyed. We had clubs for everything, Departement club, Library Club, Lions Club Membership, Debate Club, etc etc.We were great when it came to sports too.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Feasible, this was on of the cheaper colleges in tamil nadu. 50 K per sem for 8 sems, no capitation was taken. Well that was the standard of education.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
None. the college was bad with such things as scolarships and internships.
Campus Life :
This was one aspect of the that I truly enjoyed. We had clubs for everything, Departement club, Library Club, Lions Club Membership, Debate Club, etc etc.We were great when it came to sports too.
Hostel Facilities :
Poor quality food was served at the canteen, we ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for food on a regular basis. Often we used to skip lunch due to lack of good food.
Alumni/Alumna :
None. There has been no attempt made to create an alumni network so far however, all of steel keep in touch via phone. We truly enjoyed living together in hostels, we starved together, we studied together and failed together.
Exam Structure :
As per Anna University norm, which I would say is pretty nice.It would only get hectic if you had back papers that you need to write along with you current sem papers.
Faculty :
Below average, the college did not garner an atmosphere for learning. We spent most of our time creating and planning symposiums and other clubs. They recruited staff that studies at their college, and this staff would teach the incoming students, the vicious cycle went on for a long and I gave up on the learning from the faculty and moved on to learn from branded author text books, like tata McGraw hill publications.
