Remarks :
Management wise it is a good college with a nice campus. They maintain college very nicely. The only thing they have to think upon that is their fees. Not all students can afford that much fees.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We were having 2 semesters each year. We have to do projects and presentations on some topics for internals. Our faculties were always trying to do some new activities for internals like project making, skits performance, model making etc. We were having practicals also with the lectures. And excursion once in the year. At the end of the course, we submitted a thesis on which we did an internship in our summer holiday.
Placement Experience :
We were not having any placements. But our faculties were always active to send us to various companies for the internship. They were also looking for job opportunities for students with various companies.
College Events :
We were organising our own event called convergence. We have organised this for two years successfully. We were inviting people from various colleges to participate. We always received a huge response from students. We were also having some sponsored for this event.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It was quite expensive but there was transparency in the fee break down. They were accepting cash and cheque also. As compared to other colleges our fees were quite high. They were taking some charges as annual, exam fees, etc. We can pay our fees on some steps also.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No, there was no scholarship or education loan for the course. We feel there should be a scholarship for the students who are good in academics.
Campus Life :
It is a huge campus with the amphitheatre. There are always some activities going on. We were having our own program called convergence. There was dance competition in college where we have participated. There is always alumni meet once in a year which we never missed.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, we were having very helpful seniors. They were always there to guide us. Even after their college, they were in our touch, if we are having any doubts they were there to solve it.
Admission :
My brother recommended me k.j.somaiya for my post graduation. It is quite a popular college so when I did some R&D on it, I got positive reviews only. So I finally decided to go for it. We were having an entrance exam before admission related to my subject. After that, according to the entrance score, they published the merit of students who are qualified. Faculty were personally calling students to inform and guide about the admission procedure. Which was quite a good initiative to interact with students of faculty.
Faculty :
We were having three main faculties. One miss shetye who was the head of the department, she was PhD holder. Mr Sanjay Joshi sir who was around 60 years old with a great experience he was also PhD holder and was working with one NGO also. Miss Elizabeth abba, she was young and enthusiastic every time. She was also a PhD holder, with great subject knowledge.
