Remarks :
I chose this college because AIB has a very good reputation when it comes to Biotechnology in India. It is not just a college but a reputed research institution with active research projects going on. Some research projects are even funded by DBT, Government of India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum is well structured by the university. They'll teach you everything , ranging from Cell Science to Biophysics. Curriculum does not only focuses on conventional sciences but also on the emerging fields like Stem Cells Biology,Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and even Intellectual Property Rights. Faculties are very knowledgeable and will help you to gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge. It all depends upon how much you want to learn. Also you'll be taught one foreign business language, behavioral science and basic english.
Internships Opportunities :
Well I did my first internship from Indraprasth Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi in the department of Microbiology and did my second internship from IBRI, Noida on In-silico drug designing. You'll have to look for internships on your own. You'll be provided a time frame to pursue your internship and submit your project report at the end.
Placement Experience :
Most of the students pursue higher studies after the completion of B.Sc. But if someone wants to be placed , then the Placement Committee provides full assistance to that candidate till he/she secures a job.
College Events :
Amity has a very happening campus and regularly holds cultural and technical festivals. It also holds annual sports fest named Sangathan and also the most popular Amity Youth Fest(AYF). Various workshops are also held around the year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The university provides 50 to 100% scholarships to students who secure 90% and above in their board examinations. The scholarship is extended based upon your academic performance in the university exams. Also if you are looking for a loan, there is a branch of OBC in the campus itself.
Campus Life :
Amity has one of the best campuses in the country when it comes to infrastructure. Campus has a huge central library with thousands of books and relevant study material. Campus is wifi enabled and has well equipped labs.
Hostel Facilities :
Although I was a day scholar but have heard that hostels are not that great. Also the hostel charges are quite high as they charge 1.5 lacs for AC room and that too without food. So I would suggest you get a PG or a Flat on sharing basis. If one wants to stay in a PG he/she can find it in different sectors across Noida. Also if you want to stay close to campus you can find PGs in Raipur area in front of Gate Number 2A of Amity. If you are looking for an independent flat, you can find it easily in Amrapali.
