Course Curriculum Overview :
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary course that operates at the intersection of biology and informatics. I chose this course because of my interest in biology as well as data science and analysis. the university provides opportunities for specialization courses and minor degrees as well. The faculty ratio is 1 teacher for 17 students Faculties are highly qualified PhD degrees with first-class master's degrees in related discipline A variety of teaching methodologies integrated with technology are used to provide overall holistic education to the students. For this course, we have continuous assessments for internals that happen throughout the semester followed by external exams. There are two semesters per year and external exams are conducted at the end of each semester External exams are conducted twice a year for odd and even semester-end-term exams. The exams are relevant to the syllabus and exams are fair and not at all hard
Placement Experience :
Biotechnology-related companies visit for campus placements in the 4th year i.e 7th semester onwards Usually, students with CGPA above 7.5 are eligible for placements but different companies may have different requirements Core companies like Cryogene, Biocon, and Abbott come for campus placements exclusive for students of the biotechnology domain ATPC is the central placement cell for Amity University and brings companies like Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, ITC, TCS etc for placements For the year 2022 B.Tech Bioinformatics students had 100% placement
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Program Fees: 1st year Non Sponsored Semester Fees is 1.025 lac 1st-year Sponsored Semester Fee is 1.54 lac Scholarships: 1) Scholarship cum Fast Track Admission: Scholarships are awarded for the first year of the program based on the marks obtained by the candidate in class XII 100% for 95% and above aggregate in XII for CBSE and ICSE board 50% for 90-94.99% aggregate in XII for CBSE and ICSE board 30% for 88% aggregate in XII in state board only 2) Scholarship for B.Tech programs based on JEE score for 1st year only:100% scholarship in 97-100 percentile 75% scholarship for 94-96.9 percentile 50% scholarship for 90-93.9 percentile 3)Sports scholarship for International and national sports participants and medal winners 4)Martyr's Scholarship- 100% scholarship for wards of deceased soldiers in recognition of the national services. Many fests are organised throughout the year at Amity Univesity. Campus life is very vibrant and joyful Central Library is a world-class library with over 17000 online journals with over 2 lac books including journals reference books and study material covering all aspects of academic studies and research studies Classrooms and computer labs are fully air-conditioned with quality furniture suiting the requirement of different grade levels with integrated audio-visual teaching aids for lectures along with sophisticated technical equipment. For wet lab experiments, there are specialised laboratories with all the necessary lab requirements and equipment There are various groups clubs as well as societies run by the students as well
Admission :
Eligibility is For non sponsored category: class X & XII aggregate percentage 60% with PCM/PCB For sponsored category: class X & XII aggregate percentage 55% with PCM/PCB The aggregate percentage will be calculated on the basis of marks scored in English and three academic subjects excluding physical education, second language, fine arts, performing arts and other vocational subjects.
