St.Thomas College, Palai known for its pride over excellencd in education and sports activities has marked as one of the finest colleges in Kottayam. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The infrastructure of the college is heritage of the city. Faculty is embeded with fine qualifications, expetise and experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

BBA course curriculum has more practical sessions included in it. Computer lab praticals are mandatory for programming languages like java , c++ etc. There are practical lab exams conducted as a part of external aasessment including viva. Faculty plays an important role in moulding the students into refined industry professionals.

St.Thomas College offers best placements for BCA programme. Many of my classmates got placed in top mnc's through the placement drives held in the college. College is grateful for its famous Alumini's even in the Film industry. Companies visited are Amazon, Mahindra, Wipro, Tcs and Tata.

Campus life in.St.Thomas is as good as the college is. Intercollegiate fests are the biggest event held in the college, it will be organised by certain departments and students from various colleges all over Kerala participates in these fests. Moreover , all festivals like onam, christmas and holi are celebrated in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Telling about myself, i didn't choose this course(BCA) because i liked it. I chose it because it was the only course i saw with a scope and a good job. It's hard to learn some programming languages. And i know I'm not well suited for this thing. But it's my need to expertise my skill in this course. I need to make a living, provide for others in future. Timing of exams are not that good. The first model exam starts after less than 2 months. Then the second after 2 months... Then the main model and the semester main exam along with lab exams.

the course I'm pursuing is integrated mca which takes 5 years to complete. because it takes 5 years, the syllabus is quite difficult and thorough. this course allows students from non cs background too so the syllabus starts from the ground up.

MY COLLEGE DIARY

Placement Experience:

In the 6th semester, placements were happened. Companies like Wipro and TCS were there for to give us direct placements. NIIT representatives approached BCA department Head to provide their course give placements provided by them after the course completion of BCA and NIIT COURSE. I then joined NIIT from the second semester of BCA course. 14 students out of 36 got placement in WIPRO. The criteria to join the placement was to get passed in every semester without any back logs and there should be a minimum 60 % of marks in every semester. The package of placement offered was 18000 Rs starting and offered Master degree also provided by WIPRO itself. My plan was to get job immediately after the course and I joined job in September 2016 itself as Software Developer in Java.
