Hindu College, BA, General

Reviewed on Jul 1, 2020

Remarks

The infrastructure here is quite nice. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated, and the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The library has a huge collection of different categories of books which students can access at any time. Our college also has different labs for students from the science stream to perform their experiments. The hostel of our college is nice and affordable. The quality of the food served in the mess and canteens is great. Our college also has a huge football ground and a basketball court for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers here are very knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is quite good. They are very helpful in solving the doubts of students. The curriculum of our course is quite relevant as it helps in making the students ready for the general aim, i.e, civil services in a certain way.

Placement Experience

I am currently studying B.A programme, and I will be graduated in 2021. From our course, not many students attended for placements as most of them opt for civil services. The highest salary package offered in our course was 9 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 4 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies for our course are Boston Consulting Group, Brain & Co, etc. The top roles offered in our course are senior associate and analyst.

College Events

chose this course as it serves the best in helping me to achieve my goal. The best thing about this course is that it focuses on core concepts, which makes a very strong base for students. I wish that our course should focus more on practical applications. The campus crowd is amazing. Lots of events and fests are organised on our campus. A lot of extracurricular activities are conducted by different college societies.

Likes

Affordable fee structure that makes higher education accessible to students from different financial backgrounds.
Flexible learning system, allowing students to manage their studies alongside other responsibilities.
Opportunity to pursue a degree from delhi university through open and distance learning.

Dislikes

Limited opportunities for regular classroom interaction and face to face engagement with teachers and fellow students.
Students pursuing distance learning may need to rely more on self-study and independent preparation
More regular communication, student support, and interactive academic activities would improve the overall learning experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English Honours curriculum at DU SOL is relevant and provides a strong foundation in literature and language. The course covers diverse topics that support academic learning and critical thinking. The flexible structure is suitable for distance-learning students. Adding more practical activities, updated study materials, and interactive learning opportunities could further improve the overall course experience.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Inside Hindu College : Beyond NIRF 1

Apart from Hindu College, i applied for a admission in Chemistry hons course at Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University and I got the confirmed admissions in both but I chose Hindu College over others bcz of its reputation, NIRF topper(NIRF 1 all over India),etc. No, I didn't get any rejection from any college i applied for. To get admission in Hindu College, you need to appear for the CUET exam and get a good score, the the Delhi University opens its admission portal as DU-CSAS on which u need to register and apply for a seat and the process contains three phases : Phase 1 - Form Filling, Phase 2 - Preference Filling, Phase 3 - Result of the Allocation...Read More

Beginning of a new life- Hindu College

I choose this college as it got the NIRF rank 1 in 2024. The college is very diverse in terms of courses and students. The college has a campus area of around 25 acre. I have applied for the other colleges of north campus too but Hindu College was my first priority. I got it in the first round of common seat allocation system so I didn't need to bother to choose other colleges. I have to give cuet exam so that I can take admission in Delhi University. The eligibility for my course was to study mathematics till 12th class and the student who has given maths exam in cuet and 2 other subject and 1 language exam. Then the cutoff for this course comes in various colleges. College and course are allotted on the CSAS portal of Delhi University. Then the students have to accept that seat and pay the fees....Read More

"My Experience at Hindu College : A full review of Academic , Social , Campus life and beyond"

The reason why I chose my current college that's Hindu College is because firstly the hype around it for being No.1 which I feel it certainly lived upto and furthermore it has the best infra in entire DU , the curriculum the faculty , the fests , the interns and placements in each and every aspects it's the best which kind of makes it a go to mark furthermore , I decided for my course at the very beginning and thus only 2 colleges offered this for the boys that's HINDU college and VENKATESHWARA College , Venky is good but far away from my home consumes a lot of time and moreover Hindu is the best and something I've envied a lot furthermore there was no parameter which barred me from getting into other colleges as I had a very good score in CUET , furthermore the Admission process for all the DU college and my college is based on a exam named CUET , thus this exam decides ur fate , the exam is of 800 marks for BA hons and 550 not really sure for BsC , there are cutoffs for each college and for my college the cutoff was 765 for BA socio which u have to meet in order to get into the college after that ur documents are strictly verified by the college , also in case u submitted a reservation ccertificate and after that finally when it's approved by the principal u get to pay the fees and thus in this fashion u confirm ur seat in the college . so this is the entire admission process ......Read More
