Remarks :

The college management and administration could improve its working.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum and Exam structure at Jadavpur University is similar to that of any national level univeristy. It is a fair process which comprises mid-sems and Final Semester examinations. Industrial visits are department specific and depends on the interests of the Batch.

Placement Experience :

Although Jadavpur University is a state University, the placemat scenario is comparable to that of the Top IITs and NITs. All the major tech companies starting from Amazon, DE Shaw, Microsoft, Atlassian, Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank, ZS, PwC to the manufacturing companies like Maruti, Bajaj, Reliance, Honeywell UOP, Saint Gobain come for recruitment for both internships and full time employee positions. The average placement percentage is around 80%. Seminars and Workshops are organised to make the students industry ready.

College Events :

The University has a lot of clubs ranging from Music Club, Entrepreneurship Cell and Science Club, to name a few. The Annual Techno-Management fest happens every year in the month of March. It's free of cost for everyone. The annual cultural fest also happens in the month of March. The participation is huge owing to the free entry.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The program fee for the 4 years of Bachelor of Engineering course is Rs. Ten Thousand only. It's the most feasible engineering course in the country. It has the higest rate of investment. There is no additional fees that has to be paid except the semester fees which is around Rs.60 per semester. The fees breakdown is fully transparent.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

With such low fees, people don't need any kind of education loans at all. Fir the stduents who are economically weaker, there are a plenty of scholarships which are around Rs. 40000 or above.

Campus Life :

As a University, we have the Arts and Science section as well thus making the University fair well in the gender ratio scores. The campus life is vibrant with a lot of places to hang out. The universuty is free for all and people can hang out wherever they want without any restrictions. It's an extremely tolerant place to live and dwell where students from different walks of life come and mingle. The economic statuses of students varies greatly but there's no discrimination on any basis and everyone stays happy.

Hostel Facilities :

Nopes. But there are hostel present for the students. The average monthly room rent is Rs. 25. The charge for food is Rs 1700 approx. The PGs around the University are not much costly either. The monthly rent is around Rs 3000.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network and the seniora are extremely helpful. They bond very well and always eager to help and socialise.

Admission :

The admission takes place with a state entrance exam named WBJEE. The exam happens in the month of May but this year it took place in February itself. The merit lists and results are out by June and the counseling takes place in early July with the classes starting from mid-August.

Faculty :

Most of the old faculty is good and have good grip on the topics that they teach. The number of professors in my department is around 80 and the whole of Engineering faculty includes more than 300 faculty members. A few of the old professors are visiting faculties to foreign universities as well. The new professors which are being recruited are not upto the mark and the recruitment process must be reconsidered.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.
