VIT Chennai

Remarks :

College is slowly developing its shopping complexes and will soon be at par any other college but as of 2019, you may have to go a little far to find a mall.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course content is comparable to International institutes and IITs and the projects are an addition. You are free to choose your path. You can go for cultural or research based involvements. We have Industrial visits each semester for each subject that gives a lot of exposure and have compulsory guest lectures.

Placement Experience :

Placements are very good. Internships are provided from the college side and taken care of. The recruitment also follows similar trend. Any internship or placement opportunity is intimated to all students through mail with eligibility criteria and further selection is done.

College Events :

There are many festivals like Cultural, Technical, etc. and is open to all and is quite grand. Cultural events witness celebrities for 3 days and a number of competitions. The technical fest is also a combination of many fun activities which range from coding to many non academic competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is feasible knowing its private and if you rank well and fall in upper categories. I am very surprised to know that the fee structure is totally SAME that was mentioned and didn't take a single penny in the name of something unlike other colleges like SRM who charge money for exams and all each semester. VIT accepts payment through draft and online mode. It is totally transparent in my experience.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

It offers scholarships to top rankers and that follows each year in the duration of studies. You can apply for some other reasons as well but not very assured.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is good, around 65% - 35%. The campus has a good balance of communities. There are many North Indians that other local colleges lag and the college celebrates each regional festival as well. The economic status is somewhat high here given the status of college as well whereas girls and boys are kept separately in hostel and fests so no chance of PDA.

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are very friendly and no sign of ragging. The course structure even allows all years of students to study in same subject and so you won't get to know who is senior or junior unless asked.

Admission :

Admission was through Online exam VITEEE amd I secured 17k rank. I got into this branch in first category. VIT was my second choice in Private colleges. I was called for counselling on the basis of rank and was given the choice of branches from available seats.

Faculty :

The faculties are experienced and well groomed in their field of expertise. Over 200 faculties. 95% of them have proper knowledge and milestones given some teachers are not able to tune in whatever they do. Overall you'll find enough faculties that can guide you to bright future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was comprehensive and we have an option to choose free electives from other departments too. We would have 2 quizzes and one end semester exam in a semester and meanwhile assignments will be shared at regular intervals of time.
