College is very good, rich in its culture and well managed.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Now course curriculum and exam structure is CBCS, choice based credit system. Exam occurs every 6 monthes, and its semester based,i.e total 6 semester in 3 years course. I have prepaired my base on my sub very well in my college with the help of my teachers, and now I am doing my Ph.D. Excurtions was organized every year for the students.
Placement Experience :
Yes, they provide an a intenship from iit Bombay every year by attending an exam and for placements there will be test then we have hr interviews. Top companies like Infosys, TCS, amazon, etc.will take our students.
College Events :
The cultural thoughts of bengal is very rich. So in my college aslo we organized various cultural program/ science exhibition every year. A social, college foundation day, reunion of alumnas organized by college where every student can take part. In our department we organized teachers day, poster presentation compitition every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is flexible. As it is a govt college it do not charge high fees. Fee is very nominal. Yes this college provide transparency in the fee breakdown. Cash payment is accepted. No extra charges is there to secure admission. Its only merit based.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No I didnot get any scholarship in college as my father is an govt employee. But there are so many scholarship available for the needy student.
Campus Life :
In our dept the no of girls is higher than boys. Gender ratio was 13:5 for girl:boys. In whole college campous gander ratio is almost 1. There are so many scope to participate extracurricular activities and sports. College organize so many prograns, science exhibition, debate etc where students can participate.
Hostel Facilities :
No I dont opted for hostel, as i lived in the same city. But only boys hostel is available. No girls hostel is there. You can easily get PG or mess nearby the college. Rental rates are not too much. There are so many options. The rate can varry 2000-5000 monthly.
Alumni/Alumna :
College seniors were very friendly and helpful. As a part of the alumni association I can say that ex students are very helpful to students.
Admission :
I choose this college because it is one of the best college. My sub is Botany, and there is also M.sc course along with B.Sc. It has best faculty members. I got admission through merit list. Based on our H.S marks merit list was prepaired and after councelling I got admitted on 12.7.2010.
Faculty :
My teachers were Debabrata mukherjee(50, plant physiology), Kalyan Kumar De(58,Genetics), Sonali madam(45, Genetics), Swapan sir(58, mycology), Samir pal(50, microbiology). They are excellent teachres and have very good depth in sub. They are as well as friendly. They help me to learn the subject thoroughly.
