Course Curriculum Overview :
The first two semesters are all about learning the basics of all the departments of engineering. next six semesters are department-specific. We have 8 semesters and internals before them, whose mark is also evaluated with semester results.
Placement Experience :
The placement cell guides us through all the processes happening in the placement time like personality development and aptitude solving, companies like TCS recruit students from here. We are also allowed to go out for internship opportunities.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees are feasible as it is according to the government norms, very nominal. The fee is Rs. 19, 090 which for the whole course sums up to only Rs.76, 360. Other engineering colleges charge cost you up to Lakhs of money.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The government provides the scholarship name "Vidya Siri" to students from the economically weaker background and meritorious academic history, they offer an amount of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000. Even the college provides a refund of Rs. 10,000 in the first year.
Campus Life :
We have a cultural event called Varadha in which many of us take part in many fun and creative events. The gender ratio in this college is almost equal, no ragging is permitted on this campus. Labs are all in good condition with all the necessary equipment.
Admission :
To get into GEC one has to clear KCET, the engineering entrance exam in Karnataka. I got 60% in my boards, the minimum is 45%. I applied for the college in person, after submitting the form I was shortlisted based on both of the scores and was called for course selection.
Faculty :
Our faculty group is very good, highly qualified ser of professionals. They have great exposure to the field. We can grasp well what they teach, it is very easy to understand. No spoon-feeding is done but each student is given equal importance. Along with the core faculty, we also have two guest faculties.
