Course Curriculum Overview :
Exam Structure The exams happen twice every semester total 8 semesters. There are both practical as well as theoretical exams where the marking system is comparative to maintain healthy competition in the batch. There are around 8-10 subjects each semester. Course Curriculum Overview The first year is common for all design courses where we are taught the various skills in art like sketch,illustrations how to handle various materials like wood,plastic,plaster of paris. The fundamentals of design are taught. Second year onwards the specialization for the respective courses start with internship at the end of 3rd year design collection project in final year which ends with a show.
Placement Experience :
The college has placement in reputed companies like large retailers, brand marketers, manufacturers, consultancy organizations, e-retailer, textile mills, home furnishing companies, design BPO's, technology solution providers, and large apparel manufacturing companies along with international brands etc enable students to start their careers in challenging positions.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees is paid for every semester on the expensive side only as NIFT is the best of its kind in Design Colleges in India. Also there is good expenditure to buy course material every semester. Overall I feel its expensive.
Campus Life :
Campus life has a good balance of extra curricular and academics where there are celebrations during festivals. There are a lot of committees for the students to participate and build on their talents. The GC & IT labs and library are updated with latest technology for students to get the best of Infra support.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are only for first year female students in campus. It was 3 sharing at that time with common bathroom area. The Mess food is decent with good hygiene standards. After first year students move out for PG options or flat sharing plenty available near the campus.
Admission :
I gave the NIFT Entrance Test. It is divided into two parts. The first test has CAT (Creative Ability Test) which has 3-4 topics you have to design on and visually present it using dry mediums only and GAT (General Ability Test) which has questions in English, Math and logical reasoning.
Faculty :
The faculties are all industry experts with in depth knowledge about their subjects which helps us get practical knowledge about various things , also they give individual attention to each student which helps a lot to bring out the unique talent in them.
