Remarks :
The security guards are very ill-mannered. There is only one shop in hostel premise for daily need items. Low in sports for students. There is regular interaction between students and management that is the best point of Chandigarh University.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is similar to any other college or institute as it follows the pattern set by AICTE. It is flexible and focuses on practical and self learning plus there are subjects on IPR and communication skills which really are important for our personality development.
Placement Experience :
There is no doubt the placements are best then any other University or college. 9 out of 10 are placed. It depends on your own personal hard work that you dig out the best placements for yourself among everyone. Yes there is an option of TPP and Non-TPP at beginning of 3rd year. The TPP's are prepared for college campus placements by DCD department and Non- TPP have an option of selecting different courses according to their interests like higher studies, GATE, CAT,GRE etc in-campus coaching is available for them too. One can opt both TPP as well as Coachings. I am a Non-TPP plus GATE Aspirant. You can get complete details on the website of the University.
College Events :
Chandigarh University is literally most famous for its regular events. There are so many technical, non technical events that you will not be able to even memorize them all, there is about 2 events in a month on average. You are gonna love them all. There is CU fest, Tech Fest, Tech Invent, Tashan Nites, AIU Youth Fest and multiple other events. The participation is from all over India and it is really enjoyable.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The University fee is quite similar to other colleges but the Hostel fee is really very costly but the point is the services of hostel is also very standard accordingly. Yes additional fee like examination fee and Fresher's party and CU fest fee is also there which is usually sums upto 2000 per semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It is quite easy. You can directly go to accounts department and contact directly to the Manager Sir for every detail and process. Scholarships are also given on basis of performance in CUCET, JEE rank, and 12th percentage. The amount of scholarship depends on the score and no. of students.
Campus Life :
Campus life is usually the same as other colleges or universities. The gender ratio is like 6:10 which is good. There are students from every part of India especially South and North east which we usually find less in northern colleges. There are international students too. Regular sports and academic competition of National, few International, Interdepartmental, Clubs levels are held.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are BEST and they are 11 to score on a scale of 10. The hostel premise is quite large and very clean. There are multiple cafes. There are 4 and 5 seater rooms available. Few Single seaters are also there. But I recommend 5 seater rooms in Zakir hostel they are very big and comfortable. Yes there are PG's as well as cheap 2 and 1 BHK flats available near to the University.
Alumni/Alumna :
Very little since there is no Ragging at all. But yes there are Senior interactions after they are placed so that they can share there plans etc.
Admission :
I got admission on basis of my JEE score in the month of July in 2017. I opted ECE as it is a branch in engineering that deals with automation industry and the nano technology as well as communication systems, which I always was interested in. The main reason I chose CU was, it is the best among other private institutions in Northern India and if you are going for a private college why not go for the BEST one. For admission one can visit the website of the Chandigarh University for every possible details.
Faculty :
See being true the faculty division is like you'll get 2 out of 5 faculty good kind of ratio in most of the departments. But the plus point is the helping nature of the faculty and management. Almost every one is PG and most are PhD too. Age and Gender ratio is almost equal. Yes there are industrial visits and alot of seminars and workshops.
