Remarks :
Our college has one ot the best campuses thouroughout the country and living in such a clean and green place motivates us to do well academically and even take care of our physique. There are a lot of sports facilities like basketball, swimming, squash, badminton, football, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, etc. If one decides to utilize the facilities provided by our college then college life can be a rewarding and fun experience. Our hostels are on a 3 sharing basis and this helps us develop a bond with our batch mates. The hostels are renovated every year and are very well maintained. We have fully equipped labs and the teachers are very helpful when it comes to mentoring with projects and research. Now coming to the negative parts of our college, it's located in Lavale, which is basically on a hill on the outskirts of pune, so this makes travelling to the city a tiresome task. The availability of cabs at certain times is also scarce. If you crave classy food in the middle of the day, the nearest 'restaurants' that are with going will be Atleast 40 minutes away. But there are a plenty of pocket friendly dhabas/shacks that have open right Infront of our college, the food there is also nice and is readily available to all the students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The couse curriculum is good. I am in ENTC so it's a bit hectic for us as we have a lot of subjects and labs to attend. IT and CS are generally more free than we are. The exam evaluation has both internal and external components, we also have a unit test included in the internal components.
Placement Experience :
The placements in our college are still picking up for branches other than CS/IT. The highest package this year was 22LPA. It is difficult for mechanical and civil students to get campus placements. A lot of companies do come for campus placements and internships to our college.
College Events :
Our college has 3 main events, REVERB- the cultural fest, TECHNICAL FESTS- They are held branch wise, PROTECH- its a national level technical exhibition. Reverb is organised on a college level and has started gaining recognition over the colleges in pune. Reverb is a big deal in our college and everyone actively takes part in it. Artists and various performer are invited to perform at reverb and students from various colleges come to take part in the competitions. Technical fests are organised branch wise and it's an unofficial competition between the branches to attract the most crowd and host the best events. This competitive nature of the eveng leads to the students giving their best to make their tech fest stand out. Protech is a national level exhibition where students from not only pune but outside pune come to showcase their projects in various fields like CS/IT/ENTC/CIVIL/MECHANICAL.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is a little expensive but is in line with the fees of other private colleges. The fees includes the cost of 2 pairs of uniforms which are given twice in the course of 4 years. The fees is justified as the campus is beautiful and the amenities provided are also great.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Our college offers a scholarship to the topper of every branch every semester. The tution fees for the next semester for the topper are waived off. Another scholarship offered is the sports scholarship which is given to the deserving candidates who excel in sports.
Campus Life :
SIT is a open minded modern college. There is full gender equality. The in-time in the hostels is the same for both girls and boys. The labs in the college are well equipped with the latest technology. Our college recently got a 3D printer too. The sports facilities are also ample and there's something for every sports person.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are really nice. They are on a 3 sharing basis. The rooms are equipped with a bed, a study table, a book shelf and a cupboard for each student. There is a toilet and a bathouroom Separately. There is a wash basin with a big mirror and there is another full sized mirror in the room.
Alumni/Alumna :
Our college does have alumni meets organised every year. Since SIT is just 11 years old, our alumni network is still building. But the existing alumni are well placed and are helpful in guiding us about our future. Even our seniors don't fail to mentor us whenever we go to them with any queries.
Admission :
Symbiosis conducts it's own entrance exams for every field. For engineering it was SITEEE which had maths, physics, chemistry and English. The entrance was based only on this and there was no interview. Students can also join SIT thourough their JEE MAINS score.
Faculty :
The faculty of our college is mostly highly skilled and experienced. Everyone mostly also has a decent amount of industry experience which helps them inpart knowledge based on ghe actual scenario in the outside world.
