SIT review

Remarks :

Yes, the college is very far from city itself and you have to travel a lot. Also SIT is quite expensive and the facukty is average. Sometimes infact the mess food is not upto the mark hence you have to order food from outside which again becomes expendive and the college is located on hilly regions and not much restaurants are available around here. It is also scary while travelling at night alone.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It depends on which branch you enter. If you get into cs/it the labs and college days are chilled. Whereas if you get into entc you are much likely to have a hectic day. Course is good and easy. A person needs to pass both his/her internal and external to get a gpa. Also lab are very important.

Placement Experience :

Companies such as microsoft, google vodafone, mathworks etcetra came last year. Job opportunities are okay. But you need a very good gpa for high paying companies. The highest package was obtained of 31lacs. The college has a separate section for internship and placements.

College Events :

Reverb which is the college fest Techfest is thetechnical fest of each department Prota:Sports fest Also various days such as traditional day, mix&match day, formals day are celebrated Marathons are there on republic day

Fee Structure And Facilities :

SIT being a private institute is quite costly to study in. The rich culture is kinda famous here. A person has to pay anually a fees of 1,35,00 which only includes the college fees. For hostel and mess a person has to pay 76,000 every six months.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes the college does offer sports scholarship. It also has a percentage of seats reversed just for nri and international students anad also people from j&k. If you get a cpga around 9 it also offers branch change to any desried branch of your choice.

Campus Life :

SIT has helk lot of extracurricular activites. I would advised any one in this college to be part of any some group as soon as possible. It has dance drama and singing groups and also charity work groups. Sports such as basketball, football, batminton, volleyball, softball, cricket are played on daily basis.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel and mess is okay i would say. Every wednesday, friday and sunday non veg is served. Somedays we even get special dinners such as pav bhaji, papdi chaat etc. Hot water is available almost the whole day. In time for hostel is 10:30 from mon to sat and 11:00pm on sundays. Strict randomn checks are conducted every niw and then.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes the college has a good alumni network. I would suggest any one joining this college to as much help as you from seniors cause the help us passing and also gives us guidance. Infact some of alumni are working in startups and hiring students from this sit itself.

Admission :

SITEE is the exam through which i got into this college. The exams consists of maths, eng, science and logical reasoning it is not a tough exam. After the exam which branch you enter is purely based on merit.

Faculty :

Faculty is good. Some are way to good and qualified and some are just meh. But i would request anyone in this college to take help from faculty as they will help us in passing. Some of our faculty are from iits, nits and have worked with indian army

Students from the 7th semester onwards are eligible for campus placements. Core Biomedical companies like GE, Medtronics, biosense etc and IT companies like TCS, JIO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI etc Recruit Biomedical Engineers. Most Biomedical Students prefer Masters over placements. 80 percent of students from selected candidates get placed. I will go for Placements and I will get into post graduation after clearing GATE 2023.

Remarks:

Location is most likely a factor for me. It is closed to my home. And the another factor is that, Different colleges offer different programs with their curriculum. For example, as an Engineering student, I had a set of classes that I was required to take, with little deviation apart from electives.

Placement Experience:

I haven't experienced placements yet. but yes the deserving students get internship every year. The whole staff of this college is very nice.
