RGNUL, Punjab Review

SB

Remarks :

The college is excellent in infrastructure and poor in administration and management. The teachers are mostly not qualifies for NLU's. But other facilities such as library, gyms, moot courts and sports facilities etc. are excellent.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The law course is vast and complex and the education structure here is quite stressful. We have six subjects every semester. For each and every subject we have vivas and projects. The exam structure is quite simple and tough. We have mid-semesters and then end-semesters.

Placement Experience :

Before I joined this University I was told that it has good job placements but I was misled and came to learn that this college has very less placement. It does provide internship but no stipends. Very few companies come here for recruitment.

College Events :

There are alot of events in our college. We have National Moot Court Competitions, Paeliamentary Debates, Mediation, Cultural Fests and Sports Fests etc. We have a cultural and a sports fest every year in which law colleges from all around India are invited.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is very expensive here. The fee structure is around 2,40,000/- per year which is divided into two semesters every year. This includes the mess fee and hostel fee also. Considering the status of the college being a national college the fee should be affordable for all middle class people.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our college is linked with the National Scholarship Portal which is a Central Scheme offered by the Government of India. It has various schemes for all the sudents studying in colleges recognized by the government.

Campus Life :

There are many extracurricular activities in our college. We have gyms and sports facilities provided to students and moot court halls are available. The gender ratio is also quite good. Parties are held for the freshers and for the out going seniors every year.

Hostel Facilities :

The infrastructure of this college is one of the best among all the NLUs. The hostel rooms are also quite good which includes Air Conditioner in each and every single room. For the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students, they are given double occupancy rooms and for the 4th, 5th and LLM students, they are given single occupancy rooms.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is good and helpful too. There are anual visits by the alumnis to advised and guide students on their careers and future possibilities. There is an alumni association of our college too.

Admission :

The package that national law colleges offers is what attracted me to the law course. The admission process was through an entrance exam called CLAT which is an all India Entrance Exam. There are a very few National Law Universities in India and lakhs of aspirants apply for it and a few thousands get selected.

Faculty :

The faculty in this university is quite good but some of them are not that qualified for an NLU. Some of the teachers can't even speak english properly. There are teachers who are excellent in their explainations but some can't even explain a single meaning.

Admission:

The admission was given on the basis of online counseling which conducted by the University authorized by Government of Punjab. I just applied for the college and had to give a telephonic interview and then was sent the offer letter for the admission.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell in the college which informs us about various placements that come to college and help us to prepare for that. The college doesn't provide any internship as such but we can apply and get for internships off campus. However we can do internships only in college holiday periods as attendance is a big issue here.

Entrance Preview:

My admission was based on merit basis of my graduation and i was on 30th rank of all the admissions made to this department. The only reason for choosing this was the university campus and the faculty of this department is quite great and supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is quite good especially the way we are taught which also includes court trainings. We also have a moot court club, of which i am a proud member and also a part of moot court council, we boost the spirit of taking part in such competitions which lead to more exposure.
