Remarks :
I don't want to give negative remark but there are couple of things that outsiders don't about us and they always tend to say if a student is from jadavpur university, he is a anti national and so much more, the list goes on. If you don't know about certain things, you can not judge a student or a man, people these days don't understand this thing.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I strongly believe that the curriculum of the course here in jadavpur university is too good, the teachers are awesome and the course outcome always makes sure you learn something better than nothing. The exam structure is something like, for every subject you have to give 2 class tests and then a semester, and two semesters a year. The thing is like the examination hall has restrictions but not too much like calcutta university. Though Some of the departments have strict rules but they are not many.
Placement Experience :
I am currently a second year student. What i know about my campus is jadavpur university is the best in west Bengal in this kind of thing. From the past many many companies are coming all the time and offering students for jobs, some of the companies are L&T,amazon, Texas instruments,wipro,infotech and more
College Events :
There are several fests all over the year here, such as sanskriti, srijan and more. Every department celebrates freshers programme, and big fests like srijan or Sanskriti offers many competitions like robot war, cricket, football, quiz, debate, dance, rap battle, esports like fifa, pubg and there are DJ nights and many many one can not finish counting.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is very low, from my experience i spent 700 rupees for admission and for every semester i had to give 70-85 rupees. Only that no extra class spent not anything except some things for laboratory, you have to buy laboratory sheets from a store in the university because they are the special ones for our laboratory (they have jadavpur university written on them).
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I know there are several scholarship offered by our college for lower financial and meritorious students but i don't know about it that can be explainable, but i am sure about it that these scholarships are given to those from the first year.
Campus Life :
Talking about sports, there are many sports played on the ground including some indoor too. Outdoors are cricket, football, volleyball, American soccer, badminton and rugby. Indoors are carrom and table tennis. The labs are good environmental except some of them. One thing about laboratory is the teachers and lab assistants are well educated and they explain good, the another good thing is they always have enough gadgets and they are always replacing old wasted gadgets with new.
Hostel Facilities :
I did not go for hostel, hostels are for Someone who is from a much distant area and is unable to pay more for his/her rent outside. I did not meet the eligibility criteria, i had to take mess where i currently am. As far as i know, hostel fee is too cheap. You have to give 50 rupees for a one year electric bill, and 25 rupees per month. I have to stay here paying 4200 rupees including electric bill and water.
Alumni/Alumna :
This is the best part, as far as i know, jadavpur university has one of the best alumnus network in west bengal. My university made stars like rituparna ghosh, Parambrata, rupam islam, rwitobroto and many many. And you want to know about the alumni network? As far as I know, the fund for the fests does come from only two things 1. sponsors 2. alumni fund College does not spend any penny during these fests. The seniors are very helpful but you have to build a strong connection with them first.
Admission :
I went for WBJEE after finishing my 12th from a not much renowned school. I studied for wbjee and i had something in my mind that i have to do something about engineering, beside that i also went for another competitive exam called evets just to assure my seats. I had good rank in wbjee and evets both. But i had my focus on engineering and so here i am.
Faculty :
The faculty here is too good. At least i am so proud to have the teachers. They are well known and have good connection with students. I am so much satisfied. Some of the teachers may be not that much free with students but they all are well educated.
