Remarks

This is my college and I didn't see any point in negative remarking. Though study in DU is little bit expensive as compared to JNU, BHU etc. The pollution is Delhi is quite alarming but I don't find any problem there.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

History is the hot debated subject. There is a lot of new discoveries are revealing day by day by many historians. From research prospective, history is a vast ocean. If you are interested in ancient indian history you can research on harappan script, the aryan theory etc.If middle age excites you then you may find social dynamics very interesting topic. You can also study the tragedy of Partition of India, Moreover, exams are fun in Hansraj college. You have to carry your admit card and you are good to go.

Placement Experience

4

Being one of the best college in Delhi University, students are offered good packages by Various MNCs and some of the students are collaborating to entrepreneur.Popular among those companies were HUL, Aditya Birla Group,Flipkart,Amazon, Essar group etc.Internships are provided for meritorious students by various private and governmental organisations like ASI, National museum, UNHRC, Ministry of external affairs, etc.I preferred to do social work so I decided to choose NGO to feed poors, providing freebies and essentials to needy persons.I also worked for Idea cellular com where I spent 3 months. It gave me exposure to corporate culture and made me feel confident and composed.

College Events

5

Fest organised by student union is the biggest charm of its popularity.Various singers, EDM, DJ nights, Food fest, entertaining events were parts and parcel of this big event.College do hold Seminars where experts would come and give speeches on important topics.College fest is attended by a large crowd of DU students, passes are allotted for smooth functioning.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Overall spending would cost you approx.1 Lacs per annul if you are not beneficiary to any subsidy or fee concession (scholarships). One time payment of annual fee is about 20K.You have to pay this once per year for next 3 years. For accommodation and food you have to spend a big sum as Delhi is one of the most costly city to live in.Opting for Hostel or PG would not make any large difference. But you should enjoy hostel life for once.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't have any scholarships availed as they are meant for financially weaker section. But I know few of my classmates who are paid 10 to 15 thousand rupees per year. Most of them have fees waived off up-to 100%.

Campus Life

4.5

Delhi university is the cultural hub of Indian education system.People from various background, religions, ethnicity, came and study there.Often they develop a strong bond among them.Particularly in my college I have observed that girls ratio to boys is positive.College have Gender sensitization committee, Anti ragging committee, internal complaint committee, College do have debating society, dancing society, spicmacay society, GK society as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are only few hostels in DU and accommodation capacity is also very less in them.Hostels have well cleaned rooms, beautiful lawns, a sports ground, a mess and a meeting hall.Overall infrastructure is good. You need to pay 96000 per year in Hansraj Hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the seniors are posted in govt.jobs.Some of them are UPSC toppers. Our college take pride to invite them on alumni meet and on other occasions. Most of the professors have been in constantly Touch of the alumnus.

Admission

History was the subject that fills me with great joy.I was good at economics, geography too, but i choosed history as my core subject because of my deep affection to the study field. Why our society is status quo and how it come to happen excites me.To take admission in Hansraj college, you have to apply for Delhi University UG.After that you should opt for the course you want to persue and wait for merit lists to which you are eligible for applying. Then finally you need to visit the college along with every original document i.e.marksheet 10th and 12th, provisional certificate, tc,etc.

Faculty

4.5

Believe me, Hansraj college have some of the best professors teaching in the varsity campus.Teachers are interested in newly discovered theories. They stimulate the interest of subject and give everyone a chance to speak in class and ensure active participation. Most of faculty in my college are from premier educational institutions like JNU, BHU, IIT, MIT also. They have PhD level qualification.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
