college review

Course Curriculum Overview :

Good. exams primarily focussed on outcomes that we had taught in class by checking analytical and critical sense of student. Semester wise exam. 50 marks for internal and 50 marks for external. Sem exam regularly conducts 5th month of semester and 6th month will be sem break.

Placement Experience :

It's an arts based course university so placements and job opportunities should be done by self. But last month some companies conducted job fair but that was not connected our subjects. M. Phil and phd research scholars have stipends according to if they are eligible for JRF.

College Events :

We celebrated fresher's day. Then, onam celebrations. Then, union fresher's day. Also several political parties of campus conducted their own programmes conducting cultural programmes and with night DJ.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is feasible now. But don't know what situation will be next coming years because our public funded education started to exploit by the power people. For my course and hostel fees only paid 7000/- for 2 years.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No such scholarships available from the side of University yet. Only we have E-grants from parts of state government which give concessions to the exams fees and all and no other scholarship or other kind of loans not available from the authorities of campus.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are not good. Not good food. No drinking water safety. Uncleaned and unhygienic bathrooms and toilets. And lack of toilets in campus is the main issue. Most of the days mess have no food. So the students compelled to have food from outside which causes to pay average 200 - 300 rupees per day.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yeah, they are helpful in academic matters. Also they will help us in financial matters too. Whenever we feels finanacial problem we try to contact them also they are planning to construct a new department library for us.

Admission :

It was a entrance exam of University department of MA History. I got 11th rank in it amd choosed to be merit qualified. I was choosed to the main centre of the university i.e Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, kalady.

Faculty :

Yeah, the really not be call as faculties or teachers they really are experts. I surely know I am in the right place to study the discipline like History. They actually capable to sharp our analytical and critical thinking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well constructed and organised which is very helpful for the preparation of many competitive examinations. The exams are difficult and also delayed, results aren't announced in time. Teaching methods are good and are applicable in the real world

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus they provide are above average. But the implementation in terms of time provided to cover the syllabus is also average. Exams come in a rush and the time allowed is less when compared to the vast syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Literature is something I loved since schooling. I remember going to school library and reading a lot of Shakespeare's novels and other books. I always admired world of Shakespeare. My interest in books and literature made me choose English literature. When I was searching for a good college, a lot of people suggested Nehru College which had the best faculties of English. College was a bit far from home but I decided to give it a try which was worth it. I had the best experience in nehru. The curriculum evaluation makes sure that all the objectives required for a student is fulfilled. They make sure that the students are getting the best possible way of learning. Also they give us insights about the further studies. Along with academics, the faculties make sure that they prepare us for various competitive exams like UGC NET. The only area where the literature students face stress is exams. The paper is very lengthy that students find it difficult to complete the exam on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good faculty and availability of museum and library, more than academics the college and course provides extra benefits such as communication skills, personal development etc.. Teaching method is still the old school method were teachers spoon feeds the students it must be limited and self teaching methods should be encouraged more, there the sem exams will be 2:30 hrs and those are more subjective and extra papers included languages like Hindi , Malayalam,Tamil, English.(it's according to institutions)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this course was taken with great interest, the need for improvement was realized during the course. There was no continuation of what was studied in each semester. The curriculum should be improved and an updated syllabus should be included. Exams are conducted at regular intervals. There is a growing need to improve the teachers because being a government college it seems that in many cases the teachers are not doing their job and the class is progressing only through seminars and presentations. At the same time, it has been possible to get to know the scholars and gain a lot of knowledge through some of their classes
