Remarks :
Mar Ivanios College is one of the most prestigious college of South India. The college has shaped some famous personalities in the area of politics, arts, sports and other areas.Mar Ivanios College became the first private college affiliated to the University of Kerala to receive the status of CPE from the UGC. Upon the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), The College has been conferred with Autonomy status by the University of Kerala with effect from 13th June 2014.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very excellent and up to date and is updated on a regular basis. The college conducts Internal Examinations and End Semester Examinations for grading the students. The college also awards grace marks according the norms of the University.
Placement Experience :
The college offers various placement opportunities from various companies including many MNCs. The final year students are given opportunity to appear for various placement program and to appear for the interviews. There is no internship program.
College Events :
The college celebrates various fests and events. The major one among them is the Ivano Fest which is conducted yearly. Colleges and institutions from various parts of South India come for the various events. Another major event is the Ivano Cup Basketball Tournament which is conducted yearly in the college. Apart from these, many other events are conducted.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is very feasible and is as per the norms of the University of Kerala and the Government. The semester fees sums up to around 2000. The fees for the self financing streams come up to around 10000 per semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college offers scholarship for economically and socially backward students. Students bringing to the weaker sections of the community can avail these scholarships from the college office. It also provides scholarships from the Government.
Campus Life :
The college provides various extracurricular activities like arts, games and sports. The college has teams for various sports including basketball, cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, chess etc. The college is also the champions for the Kerala University Arts Fest for consecutive years.
Hostel Facilities :
The college provides hostel facility for both men and women. The hostel atmosphere and the infrastructure is very excellent. St Thomas Hostel for Men offers single room facility for 150 students. St Alphonsa Hostel for Women offers good accommodation for girls.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni of the college consists of some very famous personalities from the area of commerce, science, administration, sports and much more. They conduct various works in the college. The alumni association of Mar Ivanios College is known as AMICOS.
Admission :
The admission was through an entrance exam conducted by the college and the marks secured in the 12th standard. Since the college is an autonomous institution, the admission procedure is conducted by the college itself.
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is one of the best in the state. All the lecturers and professors are well experienced and qualified. The teaching faculty is selected by interview from a pool of highly qualified individuals.
